@dennyhenke I wish you well. I've participated in some of these upcycle thangs. One major barrier is that poor uneducated people often view Linux as 2nd best to a real windows machine.

Difficult to get around that ( I'm typing this on my homebuilt Debian Bookworm desk machine, of course)

@TheGingerDog That brought it down from around 3 per second to a few an hour. Before that they were almost all hitting a single page on my wiki. My poor little AWS instance couldn't keep up. No idea what that's about.

@TheGingerDog Had this trouble on my site too. Blocked a bunch of /16s and that brought it down significantly, altho it's still happening at a much more manageable rate. Most of the traffic seemed to come from Alibaba sites in Hong Kong and China.

I've got an AMD Radeon RX 570 bought on sale at Micro Center a few years back in my desktop. It runs like a top and does 3d modeling just fine -- I don't game on my PC, so it's probly more than I actually need.

My desktop ain't exactly quiet.

@fesshole Build a 3d printer and then you can actually build stuff. I recommend building from a kit because then you have an intuitive understanding of how to fix the tool when (not if) it breaks.
