I've successfully cleaned stainless steel frying pans by putting water with a healthy shot of white vinegar in them and bringing it to a boil. Turn on your vent fan or it will smell like vinegar for a while.
But no headaches and no fires (*so far). I haven't tried this with baking pans.

@futurebird Rumor has it that there are catfish the size of a sedan deep in Lake Lanier ( North Georgia, USA ). I've dived Lake Lanier, visibility is usually 1 meter or less. Haven't been deep there tho.
@geraldew I usually disable sudo(8) on my Linux boxes in favor of a root account with a password, separate from my user account. This has kept me from breaking systems at least a couple of times, and it is more secure than sudo access on your user account.
Of course I also have remote login as root disabled. So for root access you need both user account access and the root password.
Caveat: I been using Linux since Slackware in the early 90's, and Unix professionally before that.
