Opening a new station is far more exciting and feels like a reason for public celebration compared to a new highway.
Melbournian for a more liveable city & better streets for living. Prioritise safer infrastructure for cycle, PT, and walking.

Is this meant to be a footpath? Because if it is, it's failing spectacularly.
Poor effort
How amazing is this street. Car free or car lite streets make a city.
The arrogance and selfishness of people who park on footpath are astounding.
Absolutely disgusting.
I guess it's a mental disability. Buy a car so big that it doesn't fit in regular car spot so they'll park in a disability spot.
When one trespasser brings the city's train network crashing down.
Also I did think of it was for staff but there was no such bicycle parking hoops anywhere else for customers.
Westfield plenty valley is one of the funniest worst example I've seen or this. There are dozens of nice bicycle parking right next to the loading zone at the back of the mall lol.
Yes you told me I had to install bike racks but you didn't tell me where I had to install them. Let's install them as far as possible from the entrance! This is so common at so many shopping centres.
It's just like an episode of Utopia.
Was the tram wearing hi viz clothing? /s
Seriously, if drivers cannot see a massive rhino on wheels in white, in daylight, on straight tracks, there is absolutely no hope they will see anyone else on the road even if you dress as a lit up Christmas tree.
Oh yayyy /s more billions for roads. Just one day I dream of seeing active transport as winners in the budget.
Isn't it weird that we turn the beautiful Yarra Park into car parking for a few hundred people when there's a game on? No? Just me? Okay...
Seriously, what do we do about these people?
The stark contrast between the space beneath the SkyTrain and a grungy, grimy, bleak tollway ruining valuable riverside land. Getting the scraps of car infrastructure as always and expected to be grateful for it.
Streets OPEN to people, living, music, food and CLOSED to noise, pollution, and congestion. Don't miss the South Melbourne Market Mussel and Jazz Festival!
Every person on a bike is someone not in a car and not taking up seats on a train and reducing the country's environmental and healthcare costs heading into the CBD. Efficiently moving and not part of congestion, which may result in some people being blind to them.
Imagine how many more people would choose to cycle if their route looked like this all the way from start to destination.
