@Sarah111well naughty mum and grandad leading her astray

Space Librarianlmrlib
2026-02-24

@Sarah111well making me think of a few years ago when my friend taught her daughter (who was about 12 at the time) to cycle hands free. Same weekend grandad had taught her to whistle through a blade of grass. Sadly she tried to do both at the same time, fell off the bike and impaled herself on a bit of it, ended up in A-E

Have been to a funeral, met people I haven't spoken to for 50 years. Weird

@Sarah111well sadly we don't have a swift brick or a long enough ladder to put boxes up

@Sarah111well while there were unoccupied houses on the estate we had huge numbers of house martins but now the houses are all lived in and it's a busy rare there are fewer. I hope they come back to our house, I love watching them swoop aboity

@Sarah111well I don't think I've ever seen a swift on Scotland. But we do have house martins nest in our street. They used our house a couple of times

@goo I'm feeling bad for my dad as well, he is blind so mum is really hard for him to cope with. My guilt today is because I'm doing something fun (although it's a work related thing)

@z303 maybe I can just get locked in the escape room tomorrow instead

Space Librarianlmrlib

@z303 and we still watch some live TV so I suppose then I need a new cable anyway for us.

Space Librarianlmrlib
2026-01-23

@z303 about to remove the aerial cable from my TV in the hope I can extend their cable with it, that will let me ditch the freeview box. And then set up the simple remote. If that works then hopefully there won't be any harmful buttons less to press. But not sure if I need a connector for the cable until I get there on sunday

And guilt, I have a work thing tomorrow which should be fun but all I feel is guilt that I can't fix the TV

In an another episode of dementia sucks Mum has managed to disable the TV and can't take instructions over the phone to fix it. And of course she chooses a day that no one can go and fix it. So now everyone is upset

@GinaT86 my grandmother used to complain about a hot head a lot and I sometimes think I've inherited it 😂

@Sarah111well the Met Office also says it's raining here. Neither of these claims appear to be true.

Being still a new area we don't yet get a big variety of birds. These are the first blackbirds and great tits have also appeared in the past month.

@Sarah111well haven't had time to check ours for few days. Blackbirds have found the pyracantha in the back garden and been munching them this week.

Heavy snow even right in the city centre now

@Sarah111well was heavy snow when I left for work but quite wet snow so hopefully it won't hang around too long. I'm in the city centre now and it's rain here
