@mtothevizzah not surprised, books from that era generally do not portray women in a flattering way (to say it mildly)

So I'm almost done reading "ringworld"
interesting scifi story .. but omg this was so clearly written in a different era .. the 2 women in this book are very .. 1D
Also one of the main plot devices was kind of silly imho
but the description of the ringworld itself is definitely more interesting than say the portrayal of a ringworld in halo

@sinbad well, then I agree that a camera based compass is the only thing that would work
unless you have a compass around a minimap, If that's something you're considering

@sinbad I think the compass makes more sense when you place the compass in the UI like that, but what if you move the camera straight down?
if the compass was, for instance, somehow, a circle around the character, the character pov might make more sense
so maybe the UI choice kind of pushes you into a certain direction here

This Ukraine attack on russian bombers kind of feels like the kind of move you'd expect someone to do in a strategy game or something, not in the real world
This changed modern warfare though since no place can be truly safe if someone manages to basically secretly bring smart bombs right next to their location without anyone noticing
