Well, I guess I've been forced off Meta. They locked my main Instagram with 295k followers after their own app kept freezing and made them think it was suspicious activity. They also locked my Threads account. Considering their tech support is useless, I'm SOL.

In 2006, two wonderful friends of mine accused me of growing up in a “Footloose Town”, which I vehemently denied. Two hours later I was telling a story and threw in the fact that my mom (born in 1956) left the Methodist Church when she was 15 despite her grandfather being a Methodist minister because…she wasn’t allowed to dance. It was the biggest gotcha moment I’ve ever experienced…I grew up in a Footloose Town, lol.

During WWII, Dutch teens Freddie and Truus Oversteegen, along with Hannie Schaft, bravely resisted the Nazis. They sabotaged bridges and railways, smuggled Jewish children to safety, and carried out assassinations. Using their youth and charm, they would seduce Nazi soldiers, luring them into secluded areas where resistance fighters awaited to execute them. Their courage played a vital role in disrupting Nazi operations in the Netherlands.

Ada Lovelace (1815–1852) was an English mathematician and the first computer programmer. The daughter of poet Lord Byron, she was privately educated and mentored by Augustus De Morgan. She collaborated with Charles Babbage, translating and annotating Luigi Menabrea’s work on the Analytical Engine, explaining how it could compute Bernoulli numbers. Though never built, her insights influenced modern computing. The Ada programming language honors her legacy.

Die Glocke ("The Bell") was a rumored Nazi superweapon from WWII, described as a 12-foot bell-shaped device with counter-rotating cylinders filled with a mysterious substance called Zerum-525. When activated, it allegedly created a deadly field that caused blood to clot and plant matter to wither. Whether it was a real weapon, a failed prototype, or wartime myth remains uncertain.

It's a kid free Saturday night for us, and I'm pretty sure we're staying in and doing laundry, lol. It's cool, though. I'm a homebody now 😌

The turmoil over small things
Eats away at my will to thrive
Each heartbreak a new ding
To my humanity & my pride

Where once there stood heroes
Now there only stands regret
Where once the knowledge flowed
Now everyone tends to forget

We said goodbye to peace and love
And pushed it all away
We broke our promises to the sky above
Of course our end has come to stay

May the future hear our stories true
And know we tried to save them
May God and nature forgive us too
And maybe we'll be healed then

Juan Pujol Garcia, a chicken farmer, was rejected by MI5 but accepted by the Nazi SS. Tasked with spying in London, he set up a fake network in Lisbon, feeding false intel to the Nazis. MI5 later recruited him, & he played a key role in Operation Fortitude, tricking the Nazis into believing D-Day was a diversion. After the war, he faked his death & fled to Venezuela.
