@pa3weg Very much good circumstances, moving to the land down under to make spacecraft!
I wrench on ion thrusters and talk about space too much.

@pa3weg @PCsfueralle @ripper Fantastic but sadly moving out soon too on my side.
@wikkit @Cayucosine Happy to recommend things depending on what you are into usually.
@angelastella I feel like he is fairly mainstream? I have a hard time getting a feel for those kinds of things.
Reading some Neil Stephenson again and he is really the most ADHD mainstream author.

@wikkit ok let me know if you need help, I have FFP2 masks and I am assembling my first Estes Kit today so I am pretty much an expert.
@wikkit thinking about it when we were firing SF6 it did smell like eggs.
@wikkit I made a PPT style one with high schoolers years ago and there was not much from our short test runs. I think the chambers get grungy because décomposition is nowhere near clean or complete.
@wikkit You can with PTFE in a PPT (pulse plasma thruster) configuration. Some people out of University of Illinois are trying to do it. Just a big spool of filament.
@wikkit well some people had I know had a scare about using mercury on hall thrusters and potential fallback.
@wikkit I don't know if we have ever looked at solar wind interactions. So far even with more than a hundred in space we have less than 100kg of prop in orbit but not a concern. IIRC we looked at formation flying and unless you are really really close (meters) and constantly firing it's not an issue.
@wikkit That would depend on the technology I guess. For our FEEP the ions are fast enough to get escape vecolity whatever the angle. The propellant droplets are slow (wrt the spacecraft) and super high surface to mass ratio but I don't know if that means they get dragged down.
This why Skylab was the best space station.
I will not be taking questions at this time.
@malderi BG3 has been the first game in years to get me hooked. It's really good.
. @ZachWeinersmith Apparently your book is #1 in "colonization" on amazon France.
So... space tweeps mutuals, what European space companies would you recommend that have cool projects and working teams?
