Some people in #Iran successfully use delta with national email providers when outside Internet is cut.
#deltachat designs are #OfflineFirst using delay tolerant protocols. Messages are queued when a path is blocked. email servers are made for this and run at planetary scale.
Messages crossing the border may arrive three days later but they arrive.
Peoples can stay in private touch across time and space, to the extent possible in current breakdown times. Which is what delta is about.
@yassie_j yasseen taking one for the team, once again
what a champ :neobot_hug_yaseen:
Have you noticed that there’s been no monsters attacking you in your sleep?
That’s because I am protecting you from them.
You are welcome.
More vintage book covers should feature bizarre bespoke memes
Going through my phone, figured y'all would appreciate it
alright, the AI generated advertisment videos from Telekom are the worst advertisements I have ever seen.
It's not even about my genAI hate. Like, adverts from 2001 had a significantly better quality than this.
Why would you do that?
"how do you pronounce 'Power BI' anyways?"
oh let me show you a critical difference!
@lucydev
yes, we do live in a tldnr world.
Maybe if you broke it up into shorter segments it would be more accessible to people?
and don't think of yourself as a crazy person, maybe you are a sentinel....

@MsMerope that's a cool idea, and a good caution too!
ever since i started working in IT and dev professionally back in 2021, I've gotten used to writing and explaining stuff in a simple-to-understand manner. Things like avoiding technical jargon as much as possible while staying truthful and easy to read, drawing comparisons to non-technical stuff, etc. I sincerely believe that it not only makes documentation easier to understand for your colleagues, but also makes these technical topics more accessible to everyone.
I think I have to apply this here. I don't have much hope for the tech bro crowd tho, since they will tell me I don't know shit either way, since I'm disagreeing with them. Heck, it feels a lot like I'm disagreeing with most of the industry at this point, and I'm regularly questioning wether I may just be wrong (until I remember the evidence that came up so far).
What I worry the most regarding this post is, that most people, tech bro or layperson, will straight up refuse to read it if they come across that post, because "thats too long no way will i read that".
I need to get this off my chest tho, I am seriously regularly wondering wether I'm just a crazy person rambling on the net. I feel gaslit af, and that's worrying me a lot rn
@lucydev
you might need to make two versions: one you can use on the "tech bros" and one that Auntie Mable and Uncle Sherman will understand.
Too much sophisticated language and "regular people" won't pay attention - not enough technical jargon and "you don't really know what you're talking about."
sheeeeeesh, people are annoying!
Forums are the future! I hate everyone locking their stuff behind a Discord because forums are so open and are a sign of a The Healthy Web. Forams are like the best and old internet was also epicsauce and such unlike thems Discords
yeah, that one time when I said that AI aint gonna replace us anytime soon, where my coworkers reacted as if i spewed some insane antivax bullshit, really pushed me over the edge.
I'm done with people telling me I shouldn't think anymore, write my own code anymore, write my own emails anymore, research anymore, or learn new things anymore.
And the way my colleagues reacted towards me for saying that really, really, really rubbed me the wrong way.

alr, I've had enough of that AI bullshit everywhere.
Bew blogpost coming, and I wanna go over literally everything from how LLM's work, what they can and cannot do, the environmental impact, the ethics (or lack thereof), and the cognitive impact on LLM users.
So if anyone else ever annoys me with that brainrot, I can just give them that blogpost and be done with it, instead of being told that I'm full of shit, like it usually does.
I am open to suggestions. What would you like to have in a blogpost covering everything regarding generative AI, targeted against misinformation?
@EndlessMason i have never heard of anyone saying that, ever.
Is that an actual thing??
No, we don't. We need to talk about your trackers.
I'm not joking, even I am getting nerdsniped by Pewdiepie

"oooo mimimi tech is so complicated so i'll never gonna try to figure shit out"
bitch, 3/4 of developers reading this post are getting nerdsniped by PewDiePie of all people nowadays, I'm sure you can figure out how to open a CSV without Excel
