and like a lot of this aesthetic is rooted in toxic femininity, and absurd beauty standards that are straight up wrong and harmful. i think my brain is still (kind of) at this place of “you have to wear those types of outfits to be femme” which is just *not true*. it’s just that those feelings and gender envy are so deeply rooted that it’s taking me a while to shake it off, and in the meantime it’s hard to tell if i will actually look good in something or if im romanticizing it again.

someone actually needs to force me to stop liking the white girl aesthetic. i think it’s entirely because i grew up being super jealous of white girls in my school and in shows like Liv and Maddie. i ended up romanticizing the aesthetic as a whole because i always wished i looked like that. but now i see little skirts and crop tops and think “omg i have to have that, it’s gonna look soo cute” when in reality it won’t. it just looks like something that women i was jealous of would wear. 1/2
