@cR0w @Epic_Null @puppygirlhornypost2 @mttaggart that is why I made it about mine. But issued as something to note for anyone else that might have or want similar cert.
Geeky dad jokes related to dfir, malware, osint, infosec, iiot, incident response, law enforcement, empty nest, marriage, and gaming. (he/him)

@Epic_Null @cR0w @puppygirlhornypost2 @mttaggart just highlighting that downloading might still put me in violation of some ethics oaths I took for some training and certifications.
Those who can, do.
Those that have, teach.
Those that never could or did, sell 90 day bootcamps.
@winterayars @tinker as a security practitioner I take solace in the silver lining that it means all my friends in the industry will at least have job security for decades.
@puppygirlhornypost2 @webhat
I figure they are using one of those "post across multiple platform" tools so they write the message that way for another platform's filters and that same post just gets posted here.
Next month is when the impact of tariffs will really start kicking in from a supply chain perspective. However we're already seeing the effects on products like Kickstarter which is now adding tools to enable creators to add extra charges to fully funded projects to handle rising costs from tariffs.
@rootwyrm Fair, they seem to forget to call 811 enough for this to balance.
@malanalysis @cR0w Now I have this in my head:
Attenborough voice: "Here we have the Eastern Gray Squirrel in its native habitat: the substation. This little fellow is looking for some nuts. You won't find any in there, my furry frie*pop*...Well, nature takes it course, and the circle of life continues. The ants, at least, will be fed."
@rootwyrm Don't forget about backhoe operators.
always a little weird to see in politicians' footnotes
@cR0w Second thought. If this was like cybersecurity, a lot of the products would be from companies that had side businesses in the poaching market.
@cR0w Little black boxes that provide wildlife protection.
Imagine that there is a major power outage and the local news is like, "Okay, lets get a cyber security thought leader and someone from wildlife control on a panel to discuss root cause."
And that would be an improvement to the way it is currently done, because I have never seen anyone from the Cousteau, Irwin, Goodall, or Attenborough families asked about "Do you think a squirrel or other local fauna might have caused this outage?"
@GossiTheDog LIES, everyone knows it was the squirrels, again.
Today's Mood:
If you have a mentor in your life, please remember to update them on where your career has taken you.
I just received a detailed letter from a student I mentored 6 years ago, whom I had only heard from once during COVID.
Needless to say, old men can cry with joy.
I was taught that politics is disagreeing with how to address a problem, not disagreeing on whether the people suffering from the problem should be villainized.
We can negotiate on a solution to a problem. There is no middle ground on whether we should be villainizing the victims of a problem.
General reminder that the word "Hackers" is not actually a synonym for the word "Criminals"
I am looking at you, the folks that write headlines for online news articles!
If someone you follow brings you value, take the time to let them know, and do it often. This act of kindness and appreciation has value all on its own, but it also has added importance because there are legions of hurt and hateful people that don't hesitate to try and regularly tear them down. It would be a shame if those hateful and hurtful voices were the only ones the people that we valued ever heard.
