Blown away to discover that we've been listed in "Apps and Games We Love Right Now" on the Mac App Store in at least the UK and USA for the last few weeks! 10.5M app impressions π±
Sadly it doesn't translate into a windfall of installs for various reasons, but still very nice to have!
(If only it was using the right app icon and not our ugly internal build icon due to technical issues)
It was great to meet you! I think you were the most productive of everyone there π

Apple's beta Speech APIs include a speech-to-text transcription model that runs on-device and blows away OpenAI's Whisper, the model many apps use today. My hands-on tests are on @macstories:
Before you touch any code on iOS 26 that uses a keyboard, take a look at this:
https://github.com/chockenberry/KeyboardAvoider
It's wildly broken in beta 1.
I think I understand what the underlying problem is, but that is also an indicator that layouts are going to change just as wildly as we go through the beta period.
Screw these guys who mailed me. And screw any app devs who pay for this kind of service.
@acf I think they are still separate because it seems like visionOS and tvOS are not updated to support the glass effects on icons
Hmm the new icon composer session does not talk about visionOS or tvOS icons. Do they still need to be built with Parallax Viewer? Weird.
Always remember
- Age verification is deanonymization
- Deanonymization is censorship
There is no nuance on this

Meanwhile, the @macstories has absolutely CRUSHED this year's WWDC coverage while John and I were in Cupertino and I can't wait to dig in myself:

Woah nelly! WWDC day 1 is probably the highest level of daily shares we've ever had.
We've decided to extend the in-app 50% discount for your 1st year of Pro offer until Monday.
HOWEVER, we're not offering this to users using the Russia or Israel stores. Users in πΊπ¦ and π΅πΈ get an extra discount with a first year for only $1.99! β
Last year I speculated about Apple adding spatial pen input to #VisionPro. Today they announced it. The API that supports game controllers also supports the Logitech Muse pen (coming later this year). See this developer video of a 3D sculpting app with fine control: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2025/289/ . It has position, buttons, and haptics (Yay!). VisionOS can figure out which hand you are holding it in to help you position toolbars. The Muse: https://ir.logitech.com/press-releases/press-release-details/2025/Introducing-Logitech-Muse-for-Apple-Vision-Pro/default.aspx
This might be good graphic design but I'm not convinced this is good software design. Apparently an unpopular opinion in Apple HQ: Text should be readable.
