Wow, Medium seems to have become little more than a host for thousands of AI-generated articles that all sound just alike.
Season 2, Episode 8 - Who Are You - of #Andor is near-perfect television. The machinery of that story, grinding relentlessly forward, the chanting, the soundtrack moaning like a dark thing in labor … OMG. I can’t even. I’m wrecked.
@AnthonyBaker DRM is absolutely the real villain here.
@athousandcateaus Hey, thanks for speaking up! I’m glad the kobo works for you. Maybe I should give the KOReader setup a try!
Before you consider switching away from your Kindle, please read this:

Here’s the thing about spotlight-loving, big idea, ketamine-fueled change-makers:
They get bored fast, and they move on, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake for you and me to clean up and pay for.
I tried to escape the Amazon Kindle.
I failed.

Kinda charming how, in Nemesis Games, Holden wants to solve a data mining problem by hiring programmers instead of using his century’s ChatGPT. #TheExpanse
I wish the Kindle ColorSoft looked this vibrant and appealing all the time … and not just when I place it directly under a high-powered halogen lamp.
@AnthonyBaker Ha! You’ve just described my husband’s life! 😜
Ha!
#askatp While I enjoy using ChatGPT, OpenAI’s newly announced financial links to the Trump administration have me considering Claude as an alternative. But I know Google is a major investor in Anthropic, and I’m trying to de-Google myself!
The tight alliance between tech oligarchs and Trump is making it harder to align my passion for good tech with my personal ethics. So I guess I’m asking: Is Anthropic a more neutral or less politically-charged company in any meaningful way?
@robertbreen Well, I seem to have a Boox, a Paperwhite, and now a Colorsoft. They’re like tribbles!
Here's the thing about the new #Kindle #Colorsoft. It's fine. All the tech YouTubers have to have *something* to go on about, so screen brightness, resolution, and soft colors get lots of attention. But it's just a Kindle, in the end, with a weeks-long battery and a bit of soft, faded color on the covers of books.
Wow ... making a slideshow of photos in Apple Photos is just ... no fun at all. Can't choose the music I really want to use ... don't feel good control over the pace and speed of the piece.
Apple's a little schizophrenic when it comes to the Photos app. They want it to be a showcase for your work ... but they've eliminated book making, and simple things like making video slideshows are just too weird and hard.
#Apple -- that's a problem.
