Mastodon question: If I want to move to another server, do I have to export my following graph first and if so how do I do this?

Since Elon Musk took ownership of Twitter, some users have jumped to Mastodon. But what is it, and how does it work? Here's what to know. https://nyti.ms/3tbPVny

I love it
I hope this platform has staying power because even with all its glitches and quirks itβs better than whatβs going on rn on Twitter
Lots of Mastodon instances are struggling with the heavy influx of users. Twitter was the same in the early days. The Fail Whale, was something youβd see on a regular basis. Gives it a chance, things will get better.
Intro:
I am currently a fellow at NYU Law and Cornell Tech's Digital Life Initiative, and have an SJD from Harvard Law School.
My work is on technology law and antitrust in the digital economy, how platforms such as Google, Facebook or Twitter(!) shape peopleβs political and consumption choices. I challenge the limits of current conceptions of privacy, consumer protection and antitrust in dealing with emerging instances of infrastructural and gatekeeping power.
I like this by @JeremyLittau, βthe n00bβs guide to Mastodon.β As much of an explainer of what it is as what to do with it. https://jeremylittau.substack.com/p/a-n00bs-guide-to-mastodon?utm_source=substack&publication_id=271235&post_id=82992979&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share&triggerShare=true&isFreemail=true
