@talios open issue please.
I'll be at Red Hat Summit Connect October 29th in Copenhagen speaking on "AI for Application Developers".
There is a lot of hype around AI - some warranted others not so much. Come and get an overview of what AI means to you as a developer. Will show with concrete examples and tips on how to explore GenAI today using Java, especially Quarkus
Emporors new Clothes - https://buff.ly/3UhG7pY
A story inspired by watching https://buff.ly/48gxBgX and others reactions to https://buff.ly/3BIk4CH
I had to figure out what http requests a cli was making and remembered https://buff.ly/4474s4w exists.
You run it and in a terminal runs: eval "$(curl -sS localhost:8001/setup)"
Now all network gets proxied through http toolkit for easy introspection.
*REALLY* usefull to grok what is happening.
🎉 We passed 1000 contributors on @quarkusio! This is more than a number; it’s a reflection of everyone who opened issues, shared knowledge, and championed Quarkus across the globe 🌍. Thank you to all who made this possible! Let’s keep growing together—your contributions matter, and I'm excited for us to welcome more to bring developer joy. 🚀💪
jbang app install j2xgenie@maxandersen
OPENAI_KEY=sk-... j2xgenie <url/file.json>
and you get corresponding java records for that json.
go crazy and add --types="C# classes" or --types="GoLang structs"
I for one believe use of genAI is a great enabler but seeing all the BS about how it will solve all problems in software development it's time to remind how there is no silver bullet when it comes to software development.
The No Silver Bullet article from 1986 covers AI and expert systems and as far as I can see its fundemental aeguments still holds true here almost 40 years later.

Come at me!
'A few highlights in Quarkusio that bring joy to developers:
- Enhanced Exception Context: Detailed exception context with code snippets and line numbers displayed in the terminal, error page, and Dev UI.
- Automatic Debug Port Reassignment: Quarkus automatically finds a free port in case of conflict, eliminating the need for manual adjustment. Works with vscode and IntelliJ IDEA Attach feature.
- Devmode log control: Press 'j' to toggle global log levels or use Dev UI for precise control.'
Llama 3.1 looks awesome but I'm really getting tired of every new release they put it out as if it's opensource.
It is source available with specific use case restrictions aka a proprtitary license.
AI technology is transforming the education landscape in incredible ways. Recently, I came across a concept where google convert your study notes into a podcast that adapts to questions from you in real-time. This innovation makes personalized learning more accessible and engaging. And the best part? Soon, you’ll be able to create this on your own without relying on the big vendors.
Democratization of AI is what matters.
Yesterday we had @richardfontana on Quarkus Insights to talk about software licenses for opensource software, startups and even got to touch on the paradoxes surrounding AI models and copyright licenses.
Worth a listen if you ask me :)
Uploaded slides for "Quarkus Hidden Features and Forbidden Extensions" I did last week at jcon Slovenia.
Monday is where we will have @richardfontana as our special guest on @QuarkusIO - got any questions for an expert in software licenses ?
Just a reminder to ya'all thinking it must be dangerous to use all that open source software with all those CVE's being found and reported.
Closed source have just as many if not more - you just don't know it because...it's closed.
TIL: Clever an EV charging service In Denmark requested to remove home assistant integration and confirm APIs was not part of their roadmap - then Monta a competitor showed up with a public API.
Well played Monta - buuh for Clever's logic.
I don't know if anyone on the @quarkusio core team will read this, but here is the thing. Your framework is way too good to hide it under the "cloud-native" umbrella. The way to increasing adoption in the broader Java community is to make it more visible that Quarkus is just as capable of building good old fully-featured monoliths, as is of blazing-fast microservices.

What a day ComonHaus foundation being launched, Hibernate is moving to that foundation and I'm happy to announce JBang is also part of the founding projects.
A good day for Open Source!
3 spots left for Java meet up in Copenhagen tomorrow afternoon.
I'll talk about Quarkus and Gerrit Grunwald about Crac!

I'll be at JavaGruppen in Copenhagen on March 19th. Gerrit Grunwald talks about "What the CRaC" and I'll touch on "Superfast JVM startup and Quarkus gamechanges"
