Danke noch einmal, @thunfisch Terraform als Tool für Infrastructure as Code kennenzulernen war ein "Augenöffner". Die praktische Anleitung während des Workshops hat mir geholfen, die Konzepte besser zu verstehen und gleich anzuwenden.

1️⃣ Los ging es mit @toms_rocket 's Vortrag über das Open Data-Projekt der Stadt Münster (https://opendata.stadt-muenster.de/). Ein aufschlussreicher Einblick in die Welt der offenen Daten und deren Potenzial. Von Live-Positionsdaten der Linienbusse inkl. Fahrgastzähler, bis hin zu stündlich abrufbaren Infos zur Wasserqualität im Aasee - Beeindruckend!
Im Nachgang habe ich erfahren, dass die Stadt Hamm ebenfalls seit 2023 ein Open Data-Portal betreibt, allerdings noch deutlich kleiner dimensioniert.

🧠 Brain surgery completed! Upgraded my 8yo #IKEA standing desk to remember height positions.

The open hardware project Megadesk is a drop-in replacement control-board for the popular IKEA Bekannt standing desk. Changing the controller took me 10 minutes. Being able to upgrade my old desk to auto-move to saved positions is a huge improvement for me.

Gmail has rigged the email game imo. It makes running a self-hosted email server hard, even after properly configuring DKIM, DMARC, and SPF.

This is my least-favorite iOS dialog box, the one where they want you to type in your Apple ID password. There is no option to get it from your password manager. There is no Apple Watch, Face ID, or passcode option. Because it’s an OS-level dialog box, you can’t check our password manager.

What Apple is telegraphing here is “your Apple ID password must be memorable.” And that is bad. They should stop doing this.

til i there is an option in macOS finder called … Stationary Pad (?!?!???) — hit Cmd-I on a file, check it, and it will turn the file into a template; if you double-click it, a copy will be made and opened instead of the original file itself

@calebhailey Hey Caleb, very cool idea! What I’ve noticed so far: Using a localized version of Google (.de,.es,..) does not work, maybe that’s an idea for a future release? ✌🏻

For a moment there I thought this was a rather extreme leap in backward compatibility from Apple.

@perlausten Dieses Projekt halte ich für sehr spannend. Die DNS der deutschen Telkos sind häufig nicht die besten, daher freue ich mich über eine europäische Alternative zu Cloudflare und Google-DNS.
