we have been honoured to welcome this very special and magical monk, made by the lovely @hag, into our home recently. they've settled in nicely and sit on the Shelf of Special Things (or one of them ha) to watch over the room. they join us for tea sometimes.

we love them and are very grateful they've come to live with us 🙏

a needle-felted monk creature on a wooden bookshelf. the monk has a dark grey curved beak, and some dark grey antler-type things on top of their head. they have kind, dark eyes on their lighter grey head. they're wearing robes in red and orange with a necklace of amber-coloured beads around their neck, and you just just see some bright blue poling out from their collar. one of their hands is outstretched slightly. they have an aura of calm wisdom and kindness.
they're standing in front of a large drum decorated with henna patterns. there's a hammered copper ball next to them and an oak stick wrapped in plant-dyed wool in front of them: the colours you can see here range from dark to light pink and dark to light orange. there's a wooden hare sculpture leaning slightly against the drum on one side. it has a small lily-of-the-valley flower fairy at its feet along with a green glass bottle. next to that is a medicine bear carving, and next to that is a stone in the shape of a whale or dolphin painted with dot and swirl designs. there's also a tiny ceramic bowl and the tip of a welsh love spoon. and i'm glad i cropped the photo here or i'd be typing all day!

When it comes to collage-making with old, dull-looking souvenir postcards, I was inspired by Bruno Munari’s book "Saluti e baci /Love and Kisses".

Inside the bell tower of Aarhus Domkirke, the mid-city cathedral in Aarhus, Denmark. We are 96 metres above the city, looking out through an unseen narrow window. We’re looking East towards the nearby harbour and open sea. Under a cloudless deep blue sky, we can see a glimpse of harbour buildings and industrial cranes and dark blue sea. On the turret of the old customs house in the distance, the Ukrainian flag is flying. The foreground of this upright image is filled by the cathedral’s main section below us and spires framing the harbour view. A building with its shutters firmly down, the facade mostly subdued—except for the shingled awning above, which bears faded traces of lettering from a former tenant, likely a beauty salon. The ghost signage lingers in pale outline, catching the afternoon light like an accidental time capsule.

A few weeks ago, we found a chrysalis in our garden.... And ta-dah!

A common bluebottle emerged!
