@thillsman @gruber That’s quite possibly hallucinated. I wouldn’t trust what a model has to say about itself, it can’t know when it was trained because that information wouldn’t be in the training data it was trained on.
“Apps genius” - Colleen. I used to work on making Twitter a bit healthier, then that all went to hell. Now I make puns and indie apps @redpandaclub.
Born and raised New Yorker, just trying to do a little good and be the friend you made along the way. 🐶 🍕 🐱
Formerly @mergesort on Twitter, now @mergesort or @mergesort.me on Bluesky.

@thillsman Gotta do what I can for our agentic open source future.
@simonnickel The market is rough, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Who called it Liquid Glass instead of Aqua Glass?
Pouring one out for all the iOS teams that will have to support n-10 operating systems this year, just an awful way to live.
I forgot to mention this when I added it, but for people using Cursor or Claude Code: Boutique has a handy llms.txt file that makes it super easy to integrate into your project. 🙂
When you’ve had a long day of updating your app to use liquid glass. (iOS 26 Plinky spoiler in the corner.)
Been thinking about the transition of iOS from skeumorphism to flat design to liquid glass. I think my biggest takeaway is that adding personality to your app initially was all graphic design, then became visual design, and now is shifting to interaction design. No strong feelings yet, just vibing.
@chrisvasselli @RebeccaSlatkin Truly.
And of course, we've got a few funny posts from across the internet.
1/5 To quote Dolly Parton: “Find out who you are. And do it on purpose.” This week’s links are all about finding yourself, and celebrating that.

@StevenBarnhart @kyle It's a joke Steven, Kyle was making a joke.
I tried posting this to Mastodon but it kept not letting me, so if you want to see how cool the new swipe to delete looks go to Bluesky. https://bsky.app/profile/mergesort.me/post/3lr7zpawrh22n
@eliaschao Is it a personal app or for a business? If the former I would probably just wait and go all in on iOS 26, if the latter then you may need to support multiple OSes for a while so it might be worth releasing sooner.
I really think “what if we made every operating system look like Control Center” isn’t going to age well.
There are a lot of things that I'm not sure about in this iOS 26 redesign, but I have to say I love the look of this new rounded sheet style and how it looks in an iPhone frame.
Same energy
Apple took a meaningful step forward with AI this year and has brought some novel improvements to the table, but they definitely did not catch up. Hopefully now that there's a Foundation Models framework they'll be able to iterate their way to a better place.
@finnvoorhees @viticci I think you mean ****.
I know it's beta 1 so things will change and I don't want jump to conclusions, but this does have a real "Jony Ive is taking over the software design for iOS 7" feel to it.
