@jensimmons I tried reading up about why that option was dismissed, "compat issues" was mentioned. No idea what that actually means and why it should prevent using the most logical property/value pairing.
@jensimmons A "max-content" value on normal "height" and "width" properties still makes the most sense to my developer brain. It would be more logical when thinking how this relates to min/max-height/width. I have no idea how the new property would consider (min/max-)height/width just by looking at it.
Important tech tip for Slack users not sold on the new "design"
If you hard-refresh Slack Command-Shift-R, and then type Command-Shift-S, you get an extra vertical sidebar that disaggregates your individual slacks.
Thanks to @snarkout who has improved my life for the better, this day.
Ugh, the Slack redesign is so annoying.
Writing bad HTML is indistinguishable from malice.
Cat is doing a bit better, so continuing with meds...
Lol nope, still too many setup hurdles, for example testing-library does not support vitest fake timers, which required hacky workarounds. Speed is also not quite there yet when compared to my current jest+swc setup.
People like to shit on React, and with good reason. But sometimes it feels like people forget that a lot of us get paid to write React, whether we like it or not. When working on a massive React codebase it absolutely doesn’t make sense to migrate to a new framework unless you can justify the time, effort and expense. So all these posts/blogs I’ve seen that suggest that developers are somehow making mistakes or ignorant for still using React - a lot of us don’t have a choice.
Having to wake up at 7 AM on a Sunday is criminal.
Absolutely loving season 2 of The Bear. Laughing and crying all the time.
@davatron5000 Can the shadow be applied on a child element, e.g. a sticky header?
spent most of today tracking down a bug I randomly ran into as the first thing after opening my computer #webdev
Ah, seems like content-visibility browser support is not quite there yet to use it as a replacement: https://caniuse.com/css-content-visibility
@maxvoltar @cottonbureau excellent color choice
It's a casual Saturday when I decide to go through some of my newsletter pile, find some cool tools, then decide to try them out on some stuff I'm working on and... wait why is it 10 PM?
ok miks päevalehes enam horoskoopi pole? kas autoriga kõik hästi?
