Got a notification from Youtube that I've reached 500 subscribers. Might not sound like a lot to some, but it's 500 more than I ever expected to get.
For the past three years I've often thought about trying to find a way to come back to puzzle games, but on my own terms. Making more videos could be a way to do so. Even back in the day, I felt like content creation was a void puzzles were sorely missing, and I had the idea of trying to be the one to do it, but the executive dysfunction won out in the end.
Now that I have two successful projects under my belt - projects fueled entirely by spite, rage, and the desire to tell everyone "fuck you I was right!", but successful projects nonetheless - I'm tempted to try and revisit that old dream. I've got a lot of ideas in my head, and even a few half-finished scripts partially written down from back then.
Building up my channel would be the best way to do my own thing on my own terms.
But...
I've been vague about why I left the puzzle community in the first place. I'm going to continue being vague about it. I can only say that there were reasons, and those reasons still haunt me today.
Half of me really wants to be the puzzle guy again. The other half of me is... too afraid of being the puzzle guy.
when the patch notes include environmental storytelling
As someone who used to be very heavily into a lot of FightCade stuff, the cliqueiness in certain scenes was very real. Real enough that it's kept me from returning to some of my favorite games.
Not gonna name names, but...
I was reminded of a theory that had been going around that Splatoon 3's Past/Present/Future Final Splatfest would influence the direction of a spinoff, rather than S4.
Anyway, it looks like Splatoon Raiders may have an archeological theme.
I've been waiting a decade to see any Splatoon spinoffs, there's so much they could do with the IP. I always wonder, if the series had debuted a generation earlier, what kind of handheld companion piece would it have gotten?
I just hope Splatoon Raiders actually is a true spinoff, and not just another iteration of the same story mode formula. Please don't let this be Splatoon 4 singleplayer minus Splatoon 4 multiplayer sold at full price.
I bought P4G last year, still haven't gotten around to finishing it. Can't help feeling a little ripped off now.
On top of how difficult it is in general for an indie to sustain a playerbase, I think Diesel Legacy was extra screwed for trying to be 2v2. Consistently finding two players for a game like this was already a tall ask, four was never gonna happen.
Replaying Deltarune from the beginning before I get to the new chapters.
First try Jevil, ez. 😎
Welp apparently Switch 2 won't accept my 8BitDo Pro 2, so I'm stuck with JoyCons for now.
I can't stop fidgeting with the button to detach and reattach them from the grip. Wheee.
Got my $450 Deltarune machine
