@Ponygirl @RickiTarr I only ran into "Yinz" when I was hanging out in PA. I found "Yous" used by some of my NY and NJ relatives though, but that was hit or miss.

For folks running their own #mastodon instance in this grand #fediverse, have you found where in the code you would adjust the string length for the biography field? It doesn't seem to use the MAX_CHARS variable set in status_length_validator.rb so just curious if folks had found a way to adjust that.

@RickiTarr I was born in NY and raised in VA. At some point I went native and started using "y'all" and didn't realize its full utility until I moved to Boston and found people looked at me as strange when I used it. "Y'all" is the best. Unless I'm having a particularly introverted day in which case a group of people is referred to as a "nope" and they can stay the hell away from me.

Several years ago, The Zergling was first fed the spurious #thanksgiving story and at that point we opted to tell them age-appropriate truths each year, keep the gratitude, and pick a fictional story that didn't have a history of harm. Both my wife and I have a deep love for the Redwall books by Brian Jacques, so from that point forward we have had a fabulous Feast of Redwall at this time each year. I have never had Covid, the entire 5 years. What still never ceases to amaze me is when I have people who have had Covid 4+ times try to tell me that vaccination and masking just don't work. Sure buddy, sure, you keep telling yourself that. The cognitive dissonance is truly staggering.

So here's the thing, #trump isn't going to start with creating death camps, he's going to start with the exact same playbook that's used for people of color today and expand it. The experience of "Driving while Black" is going to expand to "Driving while Trans." It will be ridiculous, made up charges, with huge prison sentences. You can't wait for death camps to start fighting because a million smaller deaths will come first before you reach Dachau. Fight now or it will be far too late.

That skin-to-skin time was so so lovely and even though mine was often screaming at me (we had to endure colic) it's still among my fondest memories of them as a baby.
