How is it better than repeating the parent selector?

1️⃣ Removing a few lines from your CSS files will decrease the file size and make the download faster
2️⃣ Make your CSS code more readable and maintainable

The syntax is quite simple, add & to nest a new rule like this 🤯

Have you ever heard of CSS nesting?

Probably yes, back when it was only something you could do with Sass, but that's no longer the case since December 2023 because nesting's selector & is now supported by all major browsers ✨

Monday's Tip for Oracle APEX

CSS is becoming more and more powerful, allowing us to dramatically improve the UX and UI of our applications

But I often find myself repeating the parent selector 🧐

What if I told you that you could do it better now? 👇

@mkutz1492 Great 👍

@mkutz1492

I tested it and you actually have to only add the path that comes after the hostname:port

For example, adding /test will redirect to apex.oracle.com/test

@mkutz1492
I think you can do it using the specific substitution string, I will dig into that

On this page, you can define the sequence, label, URL and description of the links.

Here are mine 🤓

To activate it, you need to add your first link 🚀

To do this, click on the wrench/user icon in the top bar, then on Manage service -> Manage extension links

The idea is to be able to define custom links that will be displayed in Oracle APEX Application Builder as a new menu entry

Pretty cool, isn't it?

Monday's Tip for Oracle APEX

Continuing my experiments with the Universal Theme's CSS variables, this week I am looking at customizing the default spinner.

Let's see how we can do that 👇
