Happy Friday! Hope you are finding joy and good vibes on this beautiful day. ❤️🤙✌️
Your future is whatever you make it! So make it a good one.
@dulceskull love your use of color! The green on the teeth and eyes is so nice, vibrates against the purples and pinks.
So I’ve been thinking and thinking on this idea. The city has a program that funds pop-up stores, creative spaces, etc to fill empty shops downtown. I’m going to remix the 3d printing hipster space idea a little bit to fit within the program and apply for funding. I’d like to use the popup to showcase local artists, perhaps even have people speak & work on projects in the space. Anyone out there doing creative interesting things with 3d printing and or mixed medium work that would want to come in and show off their work? I’ve got plenty of ideas to fill the time but LMK if you would be interested in collaborating!✌️❤️
Watched the first half of Pee Wee as Himself, really enjoyed it. Highly recommended! Looking forward to part 2.

@s31bz this is rad!
If you experience excessive stringing when #3dprinting with TPU, stop the print and calibrate the filament. The strings are almost impossible to remove compared to PLA and PETG.
@jeridansky this “debate” frustrates me immensely because it’s incredibly obvious the models are benefitting from the protected content in their training. The companies with the “best” models get the customers. So why shouldn’t the artists whose works were stolen be compensated? If they trained exclusively with public domain works where the copyright protections have expired, fine. But they didn’t.
In the current budget bill just passed in the Republican-controlled House and now going to the Senate, the Republicans have tucked in a provision stating that where no injunction bond is posted, nobody can be held in contempt for conduct during the suit. 15/
If you are protesting the Trump regime's war on America, you need to know your rights. (You need to know them regardless.)

A simple explanation of why “the rich get richer”, by Thomas Piketty as explained by @pluralistic

Ah yes, Habeas Corpus. Latin for, "Deport first, Google later."
@elebertus somewhat related, I literally said that recently in an interview: “I think in Python”
🙌
@elebertus oh, good info. I just saw Perl listed on the GitHub for Orcaslicer. Interesting. I was looking at the CPP that was handling seam types but hadn’t drilled any deeper to see the actual implementation. So that is probably in Perl..
One of my fav #RetroGaming series is the WipEout games, from #PlayStation 1 and beyond.
The #design and #art of the WipEout game logo was created by The Designers Republic in 1995, a: landmark icon in Y2K graphic design.
Looking at the design, you can notice these letters are actually made from partial 8 glyphs. Below are the overlays of the Wipeout logo with Eurostile’s 8 glyph:
(and in an LCD screen, all numerals in a 7-segment display are created with the 8 numeral :)
@elebertus this got me thinking about doing g-code slicing using shaders and SDF. Could be a huge speedup compared to current CPP implementations in the popular slicers (orca slicer, Prusa slicer, etc). I don’t know Go, but I’d learn it if I felt this could be a reality! Python will always be my favorite language but it’s almost always the least performant option. Ui toolkits are still a platform specific mess unless I just give up and make a web application.
Happy Friday! This album always reminds me of Thailand and SE Asia and beach jungle vibes. Hope it brings some of that to you.
