going to have to find a way to filter "isn't just" on social media posts in general; that particular phrase is fucking endemic in llm-produced horseshit.

@ra6bit

Ayup. They are conditioned to consider us as property; any expression of humanity or agency is thus dangerous.

It's real similar to BPD splitting, this whole madonna/whore complex shit - if we accede to their image of what we 'should' be then we're a valued possession; if we don't, we're a corruptive jezebel and a danger.

I wonder how many intel agencies have embedded people into openai, anthropic, etc. to exfiltrate sessions from persons of interest to their respective agencies.

I sincerely doubt those assholes have any significant understanding of those threat surfaces, and I certainly doubt they have effective counterintel - either nation-state or corpo forcused - in their orgs.

Hot take:

replacing employees with LLMs means you are replacing investment in an asset with an operational expense.

An employee learns over time and becomes more valuable to the organization as their skills increase.

LLMs are not capable of "upskilling" and they are not capable of systemic understanding of your codebase.

Hiring an employee means that you can expect more value over time; using an LLM is the equivalent of renting per-diem interns.

So riddle me this, O MBA types: is it considered a "good investment" to trade an asset for an expense? or is this one of the textbook examples of how to fail in business?

feeling a great deal of disgust today for how we managed to get injection out of the #1 spot of the OWASP TOP10 only to have LLMs, a technology that in its intended use-case is structurally impossible to secure from that vulnerability, become fucking ubiquitous

My favourite fact about Iceland is that we have many, many crime writers but only one forensic pathologist, and he was so busy answering all of their questions that he decided to have a small seminar for writers to get some peace. It immediately sold out so he had another one that also sold out.
