With the NCSC closing down CISP entirely I am finding I am missing the communicative / collaborative aspects that it used to provide. Where do folk find these now, in a controlled / safe environment?

ARE there alternatives even? It does seem that the NCSC themselves are not even considering bringing anything like it back, which I find really disappointing as the early days of CISP were invaluable IMO.

What’s the code signing situation these days. Both small company and open source. Looks rather drastically different since I looked at this five year ago! #development

What software recommendations are there for todo list tracking? Windows / iOS / synced preferably.

I'm curious to hear, what sites do photographers post pictures up to these days when sharing, as well as (say) on here?

@zuhair Thanks! Will do some experimentation :) It's a 13 that I have for testing, but noticed that some older written tags work on Android but not iOS. Been a while since I poked iOS!

Has iPhone finally added background reading / proper NFC support or do you still need an app for reading tags? #apple #iphone #nfc #development

We are only a couple of weeks away from the mobile emergency system being tested out on the evening of the 23rd April, when an alert will be sent to all UK mobiles.

If you suffer from a condition where a loud or sudden noise is an issue, or you have a hidden phone due to #domesticabuse please make sure your phone is OFF, on AIRPLANE mode on this day or *disable these alerts in your phone settings*.

@heurism that’s a massive yikes. These types of tech are sadly now so common too with the rise of fully remote roles. It’s one of the reasons I question as much as I can and tend to refuse contracts that expect me to enrol my device and hand over management to a company. Honestly … I trust no company now 😅

Sometimes you just need to get out for a walk. And the dog benefits of course. Always helps the #mentalhealth.

It’s cold but at least the snow is gone for now!

@revk There was a period of time last year that Honda released a TSB stating that the clocks would be wrong between Jan and Aug and it was just ... a known issue. Tough. This impacted older cars that they just didn't want to firmware fix at all which must have been an overflow somewhere. God knows why they can't get this right.

Updating Visual Studio on my machine ... feeling the urge to do some dev work again. What's come over me.

Wow. What is it with so many iOS app's REALLY loving the subscription model these days. Paywalls everywhere on basic features. Even when their Android counterparts are just single purchase.

2023-02-16

@jmichaelsturm will give that one a shot too! Thanks!

@stevenweaver Oh fantastic! I completely missed that! Cheers :)

Does anyone know of an app like Clear Outside for #astrophotography but for iPhone?

Apple make it too hard for small / micro co's to be part of their business enrolment schemes (DEP), forcing you to do stupid kludges with things like Setup Assistant and Apple Configurator. This sucks.

I'm bored, so have a random small fox art card project thing I put together the other week.

I try and do silly things like this now to try and keep manual dexterity going (I have trouble with my hands and lack of feeling etc), and things like this and lego (omg lego) help ;)

Weekend work as a contractor hardly ever means "we will pay you for your time" when they say "you'll get the hours back" ... because you never get the hours back. It's always free time for the client. And yet, I never seem to learn.

2023-02-04

@lukeswitzer cheers will give that a shot. Know of any good ways to identify the exact profiles in use on a connected device? It's driving me nuts that an iPhone works fine but the latest couple of Androids don't. Although it's an ideal excuse not to take work calls 😂
