It may depend on intonation, but if I heard someone say "achot sheli" I would 100% of the time think they were being literal. Either about a familial sibling or a nurse, depending on context.
Not saying you or your Israeli acquaintance is wrong, just that from my experience it feels further from the mark than achi for a woman or achoti.

I'm not a prescriptivist, but...

The OED definition (that applies) for dude is:

3a. More generally: a person, esp. a man.

Compare this to, say, bro:

II.5.a. A man considered as a fellow member of a particular social or cultural group
II.5.b. A close male friend.

So, while "dude" is not completely free from gendered connotation, it is regularly and often used to refer to any person, regardless of gender.

But really, all language is what it feels it is to the people who use it. That's how language works. You're welcome to feel gendered by usage of the word but the word itself isn't "gendered".

Looking for clarification on Israeli slang:

I use אחי (achi) essentially as a stand-in for "dude" in English. "Dude" is fairly gender neutral to me and I use it with mascs and femmes. Meanwhile, אחי feels very gendered to and wrong to use with someone female presenting.
And as far as I know, אחותי (achoti) doesn't have the same meaning at all.

Is there any chance that I'm wrong and that אחי actually is used in a gender neutral way in Israel? Or is there a feminine phrase that I can start using instead?

Oh, I assumed this was for you and went way overly complex. I have a real answer to your actual question.

The tool I've used for copying/pasting to/from a usb drive from/to the phone is called Solid Explorer

If you plug in a compliant OTG usb-c drive or drive with a working adapter, you can long press on a folder, select copy, then switch from "Internal Storage" to "USB Device" and click on the paste button.

My spicy take is that Speed Racer bombed because it was marketed as an "action movie" instead of the "high art cinema experience" that it ACTUALLY was.

Speed Racer is near pinnacle of cinematic art that was overlooked because the people who saw it "didn't get it" and the people would would have loved it "don't watch movies like that."

If you are able to enable developer mode and usb debugging, there probably exists the bu backup tool that gives you a lot of control on what to backup and where/how.

You run it via adb, something like this for a full backup:
adb shell bu backup -apk -obb -shared -all -system -keyvalue > phone-backup-full.adb

Help via:
adb shell bu help

If you just want to copy individual files, you can do that using the adb pull command.

I can't figure out then why you're so firm on drawing the line on "Santa isn't Christian, but candles are".

I might could understand if you were arguing about the Christmas tree or something that had actual real origins in something else, but that's not the case with Santa. Or Jews sending "Holiday cards" (Christmas cards in disguise).

EVEN IF some aspects of "Santa" were modeled on Odin (and there's no proof that it is), it's not a case of taking an existing thing and renaming it.
Santa was created to be and always always was a Christian symbol for a Christian holiday.

The fact that some Christians chose/choose not to celebrate the holiday which Santa represents has nothing to do with being or not being a Christian symbol.

So, why is it important to you that Santa be a non-Christian figure?
