my "fan bump" for may'n is way higher than it was for mizuki nana. i guess it comes to down just liking her solo stuff more. love nana's voice but was less into a concert of all solo stuff. but day 2 of may'n eas all solo stuff (well, non macross stuff) and i was more into it

oh actually that's probably it. it was non macross but she still did anime stuff. i think muzuki largely did non anime stuff

dear god that last episode of wind breaker. I was and continue to be worried about how the show will treat tsubaki, but wow, what an incredible episode. multiple layers, all of which made me cry. I've really enjoyed season 2 but wow, this was next level

may'n macross concert yesterday. was really fantastic, her voice is amazing. really fortunate that I have been able to slowly go to concerts for...hard to describe, but like, middle aged japanese divas? that sounds mean but it's sort of my favorite type of voice! like there is a quality of voice for the women who have the vocals and the technique to last that I really love

regardless, macross has such amazing music and it's amazing they've consistently gotten amazing vocals. I really hope to see junna live some time (though she isn't middle aged :P). and I'm super curious when we will find out who they chose from the auditions!

@karamergen it's not perfect by any means but it's certainly doing a lot more than I expected from it

@coffeentacos yeah exactly. with the last episode I think they are going to _have_ to bring back these characters. I can imagine ways where it actually is really nice and cathartic. but could also just imagine it in fact just...being just that

@yon yeah, as far as idol shows, it definitely is not top tier when it comes to making the switch to performances appear flawless and on model. it's definitely noticeable. it's better than I expected (clearly maebashi got a team on this), but still jarring

maebashi witches has been kind of great?

it is juggling some tricky themes, it feels like a show that...

I think there's a 20% chance it fumbles and is just a 6/10
there's maybe a 70% chance it will be a solid 7/10, but not doing anything ambitious
but there's also like a 10% chance that it could go for something big in the last few episodes. a lot of signs that that's what it _wants_ to do, but we will see if it can pull it off

regardless, a surprisingly fun addition to the idol genre. some catchy songs, too
