Visited Olhava for the first time on Sunday. Spent most of the day belaying and getting used to the height and exposure - it was the kind of soft approach I needed for this iconic crag, especially now at the beginning of the outdoor season. I did manage to open the trad climbing season as well. For some reason I feel more calm and focused when climbing trad (compared to sport routes or top roping), and although I eventually bailed, it left me feeling happy and confident. Looking forward to the next months on the rock! 🤩

Outdoor season opened yesterday at Mustavuori, Tampere (see my bright blue pants in the upper right corner). Climbed easy sport routes, most of them in a top rope. Heroically I did try to lead the very first route, but rock felt so different after long winter months indoors that my nerves gave up after four quickdraws. But it was a good try, all things considered.

Today everything hurts, but who cares. 😁
