Interesting experience coming through passport control today.

Guy, few places ahead of me in the queue, had a very long conversation, lots of details and was then asked to wait for an investigator. Never seen that before.

Meanwhile the EU citizens queue flew by.

Had reason to use image playground on my iPad for the first time (having recently bought a new one). It actually worked pretty well!

Hello jet lag, my old friend

Have to say, sitting in the sun at 8.40am is quite pleasant.

Just seen a cybertruck for the first time. Distinctive.

Early start for the first train into London to head to the airport.

“why not?”. Possibly because that’s a lot of money?

Just had to call Nectar as someone has spent points from my account in a place I’ve never been to. The whole process was simple enough and solved immediately which suggests this is not uncommon.

On the thing about Trump wanted to rename the Gulf of Mexico… isn’t it perfectly normal for different countries/languages to have different names for things? It’s also perfectly normal for people to ignore those names.

23% of people in the UK believe that part of a neighbouring country (Ireland?!) belongs to us?

Was unenthusiastic about the prospect of walking to school in driving rain so it’s a pleasant surprise to see the snow. Yay.

The more I see on this English devolution / destroying local councils plan the less I think anyone has thought about how this works in large swathes of the country.

Cornwall has 1/2m population - a single council? N Yorks and Lincs are about 1m each. Already the DCs cover too much area.

This fiddling with local government proposal feels very much like something from a primarily urban group of people who haven’t lived in a low population density area before.

The Apple Mail / gmail imap integration on Mac is just awful. Given the client works perfectly for regular email servers, I’m going to assume this is mostly a google problem and other clients will be just as bad

Slightly annoyed with Channel4 deciding to show ads “for contractual reasons”, when I’m paying them money to literally not show me ads. I’m guessing they don’t consider that a contract.

Feels like switching the lights on before 2.30pm is a little ridiculous, but here we are

Listening to this and, broadly, I think I agree with the originalists with the proviso that I also think static, codified constitutions are not necessarily a good idea.

@gleick I’d not noticed until just now. I suspect I will be unable to unsee them

I feel like the EU should do us all a favour and ban USB A. Why the hell are there still so many accessories for it?
