@gedeonm I love the twist of this episode, it's so nicely put together! it's definitely top5 for me, but the best is the Window of Opportunity 😊

48 hours left for the crowdfunding campaign of the print in English or Italian of book 1 to 4 of Pepper&Carrot!

Transparency: You can prolly benefit of the Kickstarter pricing and bundles (including the newly added artbook!) but it's in no way a 'last chance' : Silly Studio will get them certainly on their e-shop later. Also, I'm not managing this Ks. The campaign is fully handled/designed by Silly Studio but I earn 10% from the publisher's profits, so :yay:

@kgf gods damn it, I was this close to give it a chance over vscode 🤏
I know this is not a reason to not to, especially if someone is using vscode, but still, this is alerting... (and others point out properly that their documentation prioritises ai over basic functionalities, so that's another nail in the coffin)

@db ESLint, TypeScript, Prettier, Vite and Vitest most definitely support some kind of cli argument to set the config file. (Prettier actually mentions this scenario in the documentation.)

@db also, putting them in a subfolder is just an additional abstraction layer which will just confuse 90% of the people.

@Phangurl ohh shit, I hate that arc even more now 😆 but yeah, you should really suspend your disbelief because the writing will be around this level for the whole show!
(I still think that's not the biggest mistake of the show 🥲)

I recommend dprint, it's extremely fast and provides more configuration than prettier, so you can easily replace other formatters with it without the need of making a big diff!

some plugins are less stable, like I still can't rely on it for markdowns, but JS/TS is mature enough to be used in production in my humble opinion!

@kgf regarding your (2), I've put hours of research about the config file when v9 came out... almost none of the big plugins had correct documentation on how to add their config 😮‍💨

while I also have a relatively strict tsconfig, I try to separate it from linting because calling tsc is more slower than ESLint and I believe CI-wise "lint" and "build" should be separate steps. (especially if you want to run them concurrently.)

but yeah, what you're describing sounds awful 😅

@amxmln the config is what I don't mind, I usually base it from a low-level one like ESLint's recommended one, but I'd like to apply good practices for things like promises, Node.js built-ins which are not included in it and there's no way I'll write plugin for these things 😞

note: I completely abandoned the idea to also format with it and instead I just use dprint for that purpose and configure to my liking (forcing tabs and semicolons, like a sane person)

@eta ohh nice! I loved the neighborhood, it was relatively quiet but still having places to go and having close to the city centre (unless the buses are late like 20 minutes 🙄)

for us what worked is to basically check the rental agencies' site directly instead of rightmove and contact them in person. (sorry, if I come out annoying, just being in a similar situation makes me to emphasize with you more)

it's annoying as hell when ESLint has a new major version and then I have to play whac-a-mole for months with its plugins and subscribe to issues across five repositories to get updated when it's the time to update the dependencies...

I love ESLint, I learnt a lot by receiving the errors from the linter, but I don't think it's part of a healthy ecosystem right now and their goal to externalise more and more rules and being an API for linting everything and anything makes me even more worried 😖

@eta I'm not sure if it's in your budget, but I can recommend Canton area. we were renting from maison.wales - other than minor annoyances they were fine: attentive in case of issues, they accepted us with our cat (the property was not listed as pet-friendly) and only increased our rent once during 3 years with around 4%.

in any way I wish that you'll be lucky with the apartment hunt sooner than later, it's exhausting emotionally and also physically 😞

@Phangurl without giving spoilers, I feel there was no direction how some character should develop and I felt more one-dimensional as intended.

but again, I love the tv show (one of the first shows I watched in English!), and I'll cherish in my heart the memories of it 😊

I'll be curious what you think of it around the third season, after all you watch it with fresh eyes!

@Phangurl just finished a rewatch since its original airing, and while I do like it, there are certain elements I got annoyed by now 😞

I loved the characters, and while I assume the writers had good intentions, some were treated badly throughout the seasons.

the CGI is mostly still nice, but some visibly got less attention/time/money to be finalised 😅

@styghu it's really hard to see that way due to the last 3 or so companies weren't great from the start already... I mean sure, they were a company where I could work and got a salary, but a lot of things didn't click from the start.

anyway, thanks for the encouraging, I'm trying my best 💪

not necessarily motivating to receive a job rejection email early morning when I've only sent my application the evening before 😮‍💨

at least I've received a rejection, which is not true for two-third of the applications 😞

👾 Attila Gondapcdevil

@eta ohh, I didn't think of that aspect, but it makes a lot of sense!

@eta I can't say I can run this distance, but this is around my running speed 😆

but the more important question is why the distance and consumption readings are in metric units (kilometres), but the speed in imperial (miles)? 😮
