@hansamann I would say there's a few aspects to the build that make it not great for super new solderers. The shift register and the pogo pins are very doable with an iron, but certainly more involved than basic through hole builds.

@hansamann I have a 10u version in the works. Miryoku is an option or I use a Callum style mods keymap.
@hansamann everything to get them made and built is up at https://gitlab.com/lpgalaxy/revxlp
Hopefully also will be available from a vendor eventually.
@abstrktionLair the new sunsets mean we finally have a nice tactile option. Doing one more final prototype run before I formally release this (OSH), and hopefully a vendor will be carrying it for sale too.
@YesIKnowIT I am so happy with this process on my Dell XPS laptops. Seamless, and actually lets me get updated firmware/bios.
@slimepsychic the pepe fetish within some keeb communities is baffling/upsetting, for sure. It's been on my list to figure out if you can configure your own discord server to ban/filter some emoji from other servers.
@deshipu love the pico bridge idea!
@chdorner Could buy a Zaphod from MKU, which has more minimal soldering, or build a Zaphod Lite if you want to be a bit more adventurous.
@kukkurovaca for sure. I was super happy to snag it before they stopped being available.
@kukkurovaca oh! That's a Mustard Packets bag, not sure they're selling them any more.
@kukkurovaca my own design, using CadQuery on top of DXF and pick and place exports from the PCBs.
@deshipu yeah, when I first got them a while ago. They'd been on my technikable, but wanted to move them here for something with some angle between halves.
Now all dressed with LDSA caps. #mechanicalkeyboards
Latest revxlp prototype is a success*!
* New case tweaks for sizing, the height and fit are great now.
* Moved reset and power closer to the edge, for easier access in the case.
* Half PCBA'd by JLC
* Shorter 2mm standoffs for lower overall height of the build.
* Small copper fill issue, but not a show stopper, and already fixed in git.
@deshipu Elecrow consistently satisfied me with their service.
Career best. Tied for third at a one round #discgolf tournament while staying in TX!
@arran I've been all in on LP for a while.
See my other projects: Zaphod & Technikable.
@gnomon Thanks! I am going to tweak things a bit to move to M2 mounting hardware, but otherwise I'm hoping this is mostly there, and I can finalize things and publish it more generally.
New revxlp case came in. Just trying to wait patiently for the solder nuts to arrive so I can see how it assembles, but I'm optimistic! #mechanicalkeyboards
