Is this the first What-If-Jobs post you've written? Jobs, with his liberal arts x technology mindset, was singularly poised to capture the overhang in value created at the start of Moore's Law. Had he stayed with us, either: A) his streak would have continued and today we'd have an iPhone-like device that we never have to touch; or, B) his reign would show signs of yielding to the next tech super-cycle, which is more about unlocking value through research rather than productizing compute.
