dear diary, it has been 437 days since my husband disappeared under mysterious circumstances. alas, I am unable to inform the police, for I am a mere woman.
@VeryBadLlama He's just filled to the brim with christian love.
“The Millennials who will replace the freckles spineless degenerate boomers will be sure to settle accounts and amend the errors of the past century, ...”
I'm guessing "freckles" was a typo but these days it's hard to tell.
@bouriquet @luckytran Not forgetting pension funds.
(And yes, that's the same AIER that launched the Great Barrington Declaration.)
@rodhilton There also used to be an option to skip signing into or creating a Twitter account.
Karma gets us all in the end.
@Daojoan One with a back catalog. Robert Rankin springs to mind. In 2012 he decided to publish his first 23 novels on Kindle.
In order to collect on the $1.5 billion in defamation judgments they won against Alex Jones, the families of the victims of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut have voted to liquidate the far-right conspiracy theorist’s assets.
@elmyra @gerrymcgovern When we take less there's more for others. What we need are mechanisms to divert some of the freed resources to those in need rather than those with greed. If we choose, personally, not to make crap and not to consume crap we're part of the way there.
It is analogous to a birthday party. When we disinvite the fat greedy toddlers everyone has a better time even though there is less on the table. You enjoy the cake more when you know it has not been licked by someone else.
Here's a truth for you -- especially if you haven't hit your 40s yet, maybe not even your 30s.
The truth is this:
*Nobody* knows what the fuck they're doing.
If someone seems like they have their shit together, either they are presenting you with a completely false front, or they are in a season of The Total Occasional Fluke of Everything Apparently Going Right and Coming Together.
But what are we really doing? Nobody knows. WE'RE ALL JUST DOING WHAT WE CAN WITH THE TOOLS WE HAVE AT THE TIME.
@nixCraft You put a king size feather duvet in didn't you. It's a huge down load.
@heidilifeldman But that would take the astrologers away from their "novel" political work.
I've watched this clip a few times but never watched the reactions. When she asked "who else would know this" and Cohen rattled off the names of three insiders, everyone who knows how criminal cases work could see exactly where this was heading. Look at those faces.
Remember everybody: The whole NY AG case against Trump began because Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, representing Queens & the Bronx, asked Michael Cohen if he had ever seen the Trump Org overstate assets to one audience and understate them to another.
This is what Congressional questions can do. It is a travesty that most members just rant for 5 minutes and then give witnesses 5 seconds to respond.
I’m reading Judge Engoron’s opinion. Sharing some of my reactions in real time. So far, the best line of the opinion: “The Trump Organization keeps Weisselberg on a short leash, and it shows.” 1/
What's most noteworthy about the judgment against Trump today is that he's been a crook for decades. Countless prosecutors, banks, and others who were in positions to hold him accountable -- including journalists in some ways -- totally capitulated to him when it mattered most.
Our democracy is teetering in significant part because of those abject failures.
Law enforcement seems to have learned from what it did wrong. Journalism plainly has not.
@GottaLaff I'm looking forward to hearing Trump whine about the disloyal billionaires who won't help him out of this pinch.
"And only last year Elon Musk came to me, big man, strong man, tears in his eyes and said, 'Sir, thank you, than you for letting me use your image in the three amigos meme.' And now where is he? Cheapskate. Loser. That's what people are saying. I'm not saying that, but a lot of people are. A lot of people call the very very disloyal Elon Musk a cheapskate, and a loser."
