Alright, so here's my fedi proposal.

Hearing that the spec is annoying and that others will just add random functionality that breaks the spec. What if there was a piece of software that basically acted as a compatibility or translation layer as it's own thing?

So there would be a maintained piece of software that could send out and receive federation information, and acted as the communication layer for fedi instances. It wouldn't be a requirement, but for anybody who was creating a more simple fedi software, they put it in front of their software and it will simplify incoming to spec, and alter outgoing to match compatibility.

That way anybody making their own instance software wouldn't need to worry about all the various compatibilities and issues that other instance software is causing, they can just focus on their own

fedi fucking sucks because this instance is in a zombie state due to being spammed left and right, i dont have enough hard drive space to even vacuum the DB after removing all the shit and closing down the instance would render this domain unusable
