"A windmill blade typically consists of a combination of epoxy with fiberglass reinforcements. The blades also contain sandwiched core materials, such as polyvinyl chloride foam, polyethylene terephtalate foam, balsa wood and polyurethane coatings. A 5 MW wind turbine produces more than 50 tonnes of plastic composite waste from the blades alone".
