@Cat_LeFey I knew about the new moon but didn't know about all the conjunctions! Thanks for the heads up.

New years' devolutions
Just 2 votes so far (thank you!), but at the moment it looks like I should begin doing research and tracking down composers to include in a follow-up to Ragtime: Off the Beat.
Vaguely feeling the desire to work on another album of ragtime music, but unsure what.
Ragtime: Off the Beat II? A sequel to the original, consisting of pieces by lesser-known ragtime composers?
An album of James Scott, one of the Big Three ragtime composers?
An album of Joseph Lamb, another one of the Big Three?
The first requires some research, but affords me an opportunity to sneak in a composition or two of my own.
The second I've already got one piece done and another in the works. 1/2
Just got this in my feed: a renaissance style cover of "Stayin' Alive."

Really *really* impressed at the performance. Basically perfect just intonation throughout. The singers sound like a single instrument, almost. Obviously very accomplished performers.
And the setting is spot on. Well done.
Today I learned there is a rag by Harry Stafford that predates Zez Confrey's "Kitten on the Keys" by about 17 years: "The Cat on the Keyboard" (1915). It's a delightful and inventive piece and I enjoyed Ragtime Dorian Henry's digital performance of it, linked here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mkMnqEew6c
Meanwhile as a treat here's a YouTube link of Cory Hall performing Confrey's piece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2IHWPhRnXc
It's interesting to compare how the two composers handled the scenario.
@anarchiv I'm a bit envious that you got to time travel with your son ;)
