Indeed, and that power has been kicking them in the face for quite a while. Sadly, that same crowd is still "too good" at deflecting it outwards and turning it into a "purifying flame".
Ok, so who's this woof you ask?
-- I do tech/code
-- I game
-- I can somewhat draw (not as a job, just for fun)
-- I can somewhat climb boulders
-- I sometimes write
and in case you see a fox in a green checkered coat called Roky ... may or may not be me as well ;)
Or you might find a sheppy named Archie :3
Or you may stumble upon a green fluffy noodle derg, Kai-Tan 🐉

Avoiding problem resolution only gives them more power. Yes, having to deal with bad actors sucks and it can damage the "image". But dealing with bad actors swiftly and effectively without making the issue worse actually improves the overall image in the long run.
Short term pain for long term gain.

I think I know what to do in this "boss fight". Especially considering the very obvious weakpoint :drgn_3c_evil:
@KatyElphinstone
Hatred is acquired, learnt from our environment. And for some reason humanity chose to foster that instead of our nonjudgmental curiosity, which is natural. :vlpn_snug_sob:
@SebinNyshkim
Is it like some prerequisite that people who tend to do these "spite-forks" have to be either psychopaths like you mention or on the opposite side of the scale, utopia-level naive and "enlightened"?

"Furries" and "accountability"
Two words that are rarely in the same sentence in a good context, if at all.
Sadly, the fandom has been failing miserably at keeping bad actors out, partly due to its "toxic positivity". Not sure if it really is just people digging their heads in the sand or the inability to deal with things like this.
Wish I could say stuff like this never happened in my circles but it did and it left long-lasting and possibly permanent scars.
Btw, though it could just be my bad memory, but I think we both might know what place I might be "tiptoeing around" since we might have some common history.

Whoo boy, it's one of these days when I'm splitting my attention between 3 things at once. That's one way to reliably drive me insane :vlpn_scream_angry:
@BenBerwick
The "uncanny valley" effect likely has a lot to do with the fear. The "looks human but doesn't feel human" adds to the fear. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the scary portrayal wasn't part of the reason why they feel even scarier.
I personally used to be uncomfortable as a kid around them, partly due to the visuals and partly me not really being into the slapstick kind of jokes. Now though, the bright looks, when done right, feel really welcoming and strangely therapeutic, as weird as I may sound. They're like a carefree bundle of colourful happiness, much needed in present days.
So for me, weirdly cuddly :vlpn_happy_blep:
That moment you get a bit of a VR itch (I still got HL Alyx to finish) but don't want to "resurrect" the Win11 (just haven't booted it in about 4 months).
Could I set it up on my Fedora? Well, not right now since Vive Cosmos isn't going to work with Linux in any way, shape or form.
Getting the Index is a bit steep (1100 EUR is quite a lot) and I don't have a room that big. ALVR/WiVrn sounds like a reasonable solution but ... I'd either have to get the Quest (And I'd rather crawl through salt-covered razor blades than touch anything from Meta. Tolerating WhatsApp is already more than I need to.) or risk Pico 4 Ultra (which is subsidised by Bytedance so not that much of a better choice).
Besides, I'd probably need a router upgrade and possibly retire my 2070 for something significantly more powerful. Although I've been eyeing the 9070 for quite a while.
@BenBerwick
Maybe a little introspective but "If you could visit your younger self, what would you say to him?" Can be one moment or multiple moments but what would it be like being able to share your wisdom with your younger self. Would you be reassuring or would you have to present harsh realities?
