Vielleicht wäre es hilfreich, in Medienbeiträgen häufiger zwischen Wäldern und Forsten zu unterscheiden.

Die meiste Fläche, die üblicherweise als „Wald“ wahrgenommen bzw bezeichnet wird, ist Holz-Produktionsfläche, also Forst. Sie gehören häufig Privatleuten mit wirtschaftlichen Interessen, aber die staatlichen Forste sind nicht besser: Ihre Erträge sind eingeplant als Landesmittel.

Ihr einziges „Umwelt“-Problem ist, dass die Sorten, die sie als Monokulturen angebaut haben, mit der Klima-Veränderung nicht klar kommen. Borkenkäfer, Dürre, Brandgefahr sind die Folge.

Sie wollen aber keine artenreiche, stabile Wälder, weil die keine (Holz)Erträge liefern. Ohne eine gesetzliche Pflicht zu ökologischer Waldwirtschaft und viel Geld als „Verlustausgleich“ wird sich da gar nichts ändern.
