This is pretty trippy. I don't see anything on bluesky in the way of a reply ๐ค I guess I just have to make sure I check this regularly ๐คท
Itโs happening TOMORROW! ๐ The Emberjs Europe Meetup is kicking off with talks by @real_ate @nickschot @ef4 and plenty of Ember discussions. Donโt miss it!

I mean I'm here too ๐ I just don't come over here as often any more. I'm really glad you are going to try it out, let me know if you have any questions ๐
Ever wanted to add a new lint rule but gave up because fixing all existing files felt impossible? ๐ค Enter Lint to the Futureโa way to progressively improve massive codebases *without* overwhelming PRs or ignored warnings.
@real_ate shares how heโs applying it to ~6k files โก๏ธ https://mainmatter.com/blog/2025/03/03/lttf-process/
Had a very interesting reflection about #codemods this week. How to put the cursor between do and document, and documenting really helps structuring your thought.
The Ember Initiative is hereโan ongoing effort to modernize and evolve Ember. It builds on the success of the Embroider initiative. Excited to see where this takes us! ๐น

Missed @real_ate 's talk on *"Ember and Vite โ How it works and what it unlocks"* at #EmberFest? ๐น You can watch it now and see how Vite integrates with Ember and what new possibilities it opens up for your projects.

I feel like we've all lost our collective minds thinking that monorepos are good ๐ญ
I am feeling nothing but pain every time I need to deal with one and whenever I come across an open source project that has a bunch of unrelated stuff in a monorepo it's just impossible to follow issues/releases/pull requests
https://viteconf.org/live is still on and @real_ate is up soon to talk about #emberJS and #vite ๐

These same sentiments are why I'm so bullish on EmberJS. We bring people along with us as much as we can and try to move our abstractions back into the platform wherever possible.
I'm biased sure, but if you have decided to rewrite your app off Ember I think you've made a really costly mistake.
A lot of frontend teams are very convinced that rewriting their frontend will lead to the promised land. And I am the bearer of bad tidings.
If you are building a product that you hope has longevity, your frontend framework is the least interesting technical decision for you to make. And all of the time you spend arguing about it is wasted energy.
I will die on this hill.
Can I please make a request to all developers:
Whenever you think of implementing a viewer for any file type inside your app, just don't! The experience is invariably going to be worse in some way and you totally break the concept of navigation ๐ญ
Just let the user download the thing and view it as it was meant to be viewed.

@benediktdeicke Every little helps!
@benediktdeicke I mean I love to listen to "Ember People" talk. It's refreshing to hear people talk about caring about shared solutions no matter the tech they are chatting about ๐
@fp and our 30 mins fixed 2 bugs, added more testing to the blueprint, and identified another bug that we have a potential way to fix (and I actually tried to fix a year ago ๐)
I would call that a productive session ๐
@benediktdeicke I didn't know you did a podcast! I have just subscribed ๐
I noticed that going to the podcast website on chrome gives me a SSL error (because it always tries to do https first). Thought I would share โค๏ธ
. @real_ate is a mad genius when it comes to Embroider and Vite. I was able to port a four year old Ember app to Vite in less than 30 minutes.
My first in-person #EmberFest was a blast!
It was great to see everyone, meet new folks for the first time, meet and hang out with people I'd only known by their online aliases, catch up with old coworkers (and current coworkers, too ๐)
10/10 would attend again.
I donโt know anyone that understands the small sample size bias.
