@jjesse Mac also just works if you want to get away from Microsoft. This fall I guess I’ll have to decide if I upgrade to W11 or go all in on Mac and Linux.

@ncrav @oliphant how does the GDPR interact with federation? If an instance in America is federated with an instance in the EU and the American instance has no physical presence in the EU what happens to GDPR policies? 🤔

@oliphant you could just put that in the terms of service for your instance right? I don’t think any of these issues are actually prevented by the software or source code.

Counter to our intuition and everyone's personal comfort zones, the bigger a company gets, the MORE it should lean into rapid change, frequent upgrades, and continuous merges. It sucks A LOT at first, but it'll necessarily get easier.

Once you reach the promised land described here, all of that friction stops causing painful noise and starts sounding like the background hum of well-oiled machinery.

Been five days since Twitter suspended a bunch of journalists, including me, for tweeting out factual reporting. And we're still suspended.

CNN's @donieosullivan, NYT's Ryan Mac and I can't access Twitter until we delete specific tweets that they said included "private information" but were actually just reporting.

Journalists Linette Lopez and Susan Li, who also covered Musk, are still suspended. No explanation given.

Sandman is ridiculous but I am enjoying it so much. However nobody seems to be enjoying me narrating everything happening in the house in the voice of Sandman 😅😅😅
