This might sound weird given that I had praised the Modern theme update yesterday (and the praise is still valid), but for the next couple days I'm going to give Sharkey a try (specifically Sakurajima.social, where I already have an account from when I tried out Firefish like 6 months ago, when they used to be on that fork).

Oh, it also seems that the extra fields in the profiles is now as large as needed to show everything written in them, as opposed to cutting it off and showing "..." after a certain point. I like this newer approach, since I have my currently watching anime, most recently completed anime and top 3 anime in the extra fields.

I'm sure there's still a limit to how much it can show, but none of mine are reaching it anymore.

@gnitro How was it? I'm very behind on fall shows and I'm gonna at least try to finish those before starting anything from winter.

But this is on my list I've made last month of anime from winter I want to try. That said, back then I didn't expect to be so behind, so if I can cut corners anywhere, I'd take that.

@yon But with how many shows I pick up each season (and subsequently fail to keep up with), I unfortunately don't often have the time to watch something older. Or even something recent that's not from the current season :hutaosad:

@yon I learn towards new anime because I like watching seasonals. Partly because of the discussion aspect, but also because I'm way less likely to have any expectations going in, as opposed to, say, Cowboy Bebop, which I have yet to see.

That said, I don't mind older anime. The oldest one I've seen is actually the original Gundam, which you've mentioned, and I really liked it (although I greatly prefer the War in the Pocket OVA, which I believe is from the 80s if I'm not mistaken).

I’m curious about how people feel about the age of media. Is it being recent important to you? Is it only worth watching a show if you can talk about it with others as new episodes pop up?

Or do you like going back and watching/reading older media? Go back really far?

I’ve noticed that with some media I can go back a long time. Music I can go back really far (the Queen of the night’s aria still kicks), books I can can go back quite far (after a certain age the Swedish/English gets difficult to read). Live action TV? Cuts off pretty quickly. Movies even more so (except Citizen Kane that genuinely was amazing).

But I find that going back with anime and manga is pretty cool. A TV show from ‘78 was genuinely good (Mobile Suit Gundam).

Kinda want to go on a cheesy 80s binge at some point :)

TBS has announced that the live-action adaptation of
Teasing Master Takagi-san
Will premiere on March 26!

The show will air on TBS's Drama Stream every Tuesday. It will also be available on Netflix on Tuesdays.

TBS also presented three screenshots from the show, which were shot entirely on Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture.

@coffeentacos Also, seeing K-ON on there just reminds me I have to watch season 2 and the movie. I enjoyed season 1 a lot, so I really have no excuse to have let so much time pass.

@coffeentacos Symphogear is great. I see you mentioned in the comments of the Anilist post that you've seen the first season last year. We actually have a similar experience then, because I also watched season 1 then stopped for roughly a year before picking it back up.

Here's a bit of motivation from me to you to watch Symphogear: My ratings for this series is almost a perfect upward line, as in they improve over the season prior. There is only one exception, where I have a season lower than the one before it (albeit only slightly so), but still above season 1.

Over on AniList, I put together a list of #anime and #manga I plan to get through over the next year. Should be a lighter workload for my courses and I'll be graduating so I expect I'll be able to get through these without much issue.
