I think I’ve had enough of Path of Exile 2. I can’t get past the Act 1 boss. I have a level 18 sorceress and I haven’t had much trouble until now, but I’ve given it about 20 tries and it’s not fun anymore.

I’v played Dragon Age 1, 2, Inquisition and Sony has decided to give me Veilguard for free but after the extremely controversial reviews I have 0% interest in playing it.

Not for me. I found the kids too cringe and the story didn’t take off until the very end.
This is good. Don’t release a game that isn’t finished.
Also the whole industry is scared of releasing a game close to GTA6. The definitive release date will make it easier for everyone to plan around it and this will give us more releases by the end of the year.

I don’t get it with The Last of Us. I low key hated that game. Thought I maybe was in a bad mood or something so I played the DLC a few years later and rage hated it. It made me so angry!
What I don’t get is why they keep releasing a new version of that game every 6 months. Haven’t everyone with even a slight interest, played it by now? Do we really need another version of this game? #videogames #gaming

The Nintendo Switch 2 direct was probably the best console release in many years. Clear message about the new features. Clear message about backwards compatibility. @joandaro I have a friend like that. When he reads my reviews he knows he’s reading about my experience with the game. Totally unfiltered, if I didn’t enjoy myself it will get a bad score. If I believe it’s a game he might enjoy, I tell him so.Just because I had a bad experience doesn’t mean that he will. But it doesn’t take away that my experience was bad, my review will say so, and not cater to a would be reader that I imagine would feel otherwise. Let them decide for themselves.

@danielholt seems to align very much with my own thinking. If I had a good experience it will get a good rating.
@joandaro I’ve learned over the years to look for treats. There are certain triggers that I recognize could be a game for me, and sometimes I miss completely. I can’t use metacritic or ign as a guide because that would be more miss than hit.
Oh and certain developers always seems to be making experiences custom made for me. Housemarque is one of them.
@joandaro absolutely a bad game can have good parts but I always rate in my experience of the game. If I had a bad experience, it will get a bad rating no matter how good the graphics were. The graphics obviously didn’t lift the overall experience enough.
Many walk into the trap of trying to make reviews that are objectively true, but there are no such things. For games, it all boils down to if you had a good time. If the answer is ”no” then it doesn’t matter how good it’s supposed to be.
I had this experience with Mass Effect Andromeda. There was so much hate for that game, but I had a good time with it. I recognize some of the issues but they didn’t ruin my experience.
