New Reeder updates are out.
Reeder 2025.5
Improved filters, new dark/light theme and a new timeline setting to delete old items.
See the App Store release notes for all the details.
Reeder Classic 5.5.1
This update should hopefully fix an issue where the article viewer or in-app browser would go blank. (Hopefully means that I wasn't able to reproduce it, but I think it should be fixed now.)
Small Foodle update: You can now manually switch the language used for the recipe search. Supported languages are English, German, Italian, and French. By default, it uses your browser’s language.
@voxpelli @cameronmcefee I'm scraping myself... I already had most of the code that's needed (from Mela and Reeder) which is also the reason I built this. Only crawling a predefined set of sites, but the plan is to extend this set over time.
New Mela update is now available, adding a new in-app browser search option: https://foodle.recipes
This was a side project I worked on over the last couple weeks. It's a simple search engine that only searches for recipes. It's still in beta and rather minimal at this point.
(As I'm more of a macOS/iOS developer, I'm a bit nervous about this one. Let's hope it doesn't fall apart under moderate load.)
@jade_smith Yes, that's still on my todo list.
@shinratdr No, $14/year seems to be correct for Canada. The monthly pricing is off, probably due to rounding (should be ~$1.40). Might change that at some point (but only for new subscribers).
New Reeder update is out.
– Keyboard shortcuts for Timeline Controls
– New recipe viewer for recipe blogs
– Option to set a default viewer (Viewer, Reader View, or In-App Browser) per feed type
… and more.
Check the release notes for all the details.

@anders No, it uses CloudKit which will automatically use the device's iCloud account. This can't be changed, as far as I know, sorry.
@kylebshr It uses a custom UI framework that's built on top of AppKit and UIKit. So probably something you shouldn't do, but I love doing stupid things :)
@endquote An older version had this issue, but I thought that should be fixed now. Are you using the app on multiple devices? Is iCloud Keychain enabled?
New Reeder update is out, adding Timeline Controls, available as a count button in the list or as a toolbar button without a count... and much more, see the release notes for all the details.
New Reeder update is out! You can now export your subscriptions as OPML. Also includes limited SoundCloud support, improved replies readability for Mastodon and Bluesky (indentation), and more. See the release notes for details.
@chockenberry That's strange, just tested this with Reeder Classic and it handles both of these correctly. My guess is that the export is from an older version (which isn't available on the App Store anymore, so no more updates).
Congrats on the release! I kind of know how much work goes into building an app like this 😉
Reeder 2025.2 is now available, finally adding support for filters.
The beautiful recipe manager app Mela by @rizzi recently came out with a new ability to extract and import recipes from videos on the web!
So I did what I do best, and stress-tested it with some recipes from my home island of La Réunion found on TikTok 😊 (It works surprisingly well)
@rurza Thanks! Yes, it's AppKit, but it uses a custom UI framework (which is built on top of AppKit).
@tekguru Latest beta has the same features
New Reeder update is out, with improved support for Pixelfed feeds.
Mela 2.5 is now available with improvements to the recipe importer, which can now extract recipes from video descriptions on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. This update also introduces “Web Recipe Search” as a search engine option for the in-app browser, allowing you to search for recipes directly on various recipe websites.
