Hot night. The air sits heavy. I slowly sweat.

It's night. I'm walking the street. Pools of light are spaced out ahead of me. To my left, house windows glow and flicker. Modern man sitting in front of the modern fire. One without warm.

My shirt is wearing out. Almost see through. I look to buy a new shirt. The material is as thin as what I'm wearing. I keep mine.

Morning. Did I sleep at all?

I wake up. A new star? The full moon. So bright. I feel that I haven't seen it ever. Walking, without a torch.

I started reading a book. It's a good book. In another time and place, the day passes. I go to bed, eyes sore, having read all day. Book finished.

Feeling good after I ticked off a "very much needs to get done" to-do from 2024. Took a few hours, but wasn't hard. Now that it's done, I'm left wondering why I didn't do it in earlier.

Waiting, I read in the mall. In the gentle breeze, I endure olfactory assaults from young, and not so young guys. Their miasma arrives long before them, and lingers too long after.

I saw stars! So few, but sparkling like jewels. How have I passed so long since last looking?

I don't get the economics of clothing. It seems that an item gets a price regardless of the material and time to make it. Small and XL cost the same.

Vibe coding when I'm not familiar with the library. It's not going well so far. Feels like gambling; random wins that you keep chasing. Hours later, drained I packed it in.

I guess I learned something. Today wasn't the right approach.

To no one's surprise, I can't find anything. I've reached the "I need to clean up" moment.

Drivetrain replacement: cluster, chain and chainrings. It's taken hours across two days. One problem after another. The new cluster is a tad wider and it mattered. I fabricated two spacers with minimal tools: file, pliers and hacksaw. Oh for a vice.

Done now.

That relief you feel when you start a job you've been dreading, and it's finally done. Hopefully with the new spacers, future replacement will be faster.
