Countries on the edge of the Sahara desert are reversing desertification by just digging half circles.

The ground in these places is too compact for water to soak in during wet season which leads to flooding but digging these holes gives the water a place to stop and soak in. And they’re pushing back the desert with this. By just digging holes.

@mike805 it's just the widget that stops updating, if I click on it it takes me to a Google finance page which does continue to update

It always stops updating a few minutes after midnight, not exactly, and normally different times

I'm still not sure why someone at Google decided that the finance widget should only update Monday-Saturday... Every weekend it stops updating some time after midnight and only starts again on Monday

Does someone have to run something periodically to keep it running? I don't get it

@slackline the biggest change I noticed was that most people left school/work early and went to sit in a plaça

Oh and more honking cars, as the people driving by satnav suddenly couldn't find their way around

I'm just glad I was at home at the time, some people who were in transit at the time had a bad day

@pimterry it sounds similar to the recent efforts by elastic and hashicorp to change their licenses to stop people integrating their software in to cloud solutions

I'm expecting more of the same to come as companies try to monetise what they've built
