Starting to feel the grief lift slowly. I still have days like today though when it feels like back to square one. That’s how it is though. We climb or take a ski lift up an 11,500 ft mountain (in my case) and we have the hope resulting from making it down alive.. and then the realization we have to live with being alive as we are… when we aren’t going down a fun mountain. My dad has a favorite saying “we are all on the same downward escalator.” Indeed hci.social/@sara/1117965150333

The surprise in life is not that a flower blooms at all but that anything in this world can birth flowers from barren blades of grass

But thus the amaryllis teaches us what nature has gifted us

A chance to be more than our apparent selves

Photo shows a bright red flower blossoming from the bulb of an amaryllis. The bulb is round and red with this green leaves sprouting up and out of it tropical flowers decadent in color and shape. The amaryllis sits atop a gray bureau behind it are photos of family and loved ones and relics from beloved people

To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. —Mary Oliver from "In Blackwater Woods"

Rolling over when wearing medical sensors while in bed be like:

Shows a continuous blood glucose graph. It’s pretty much a straight line of dots until the last dot which sharp drops or is much lower, this indicates the person rolled over onto their sensor

G7 versus G6:
G7: start up time is incredibly fast feeling
G7: comes in single boxes; this is radical for insurance billing reasons. Major improvement
G7: insertion is slightly more painful. The needle is thicker and velocity of insertion harsher.
G7: accuracy. So far more accurate than the G6 I am currently wearing at the same time.
G7: Bluetooth, can’t handle having your phone on the opposite side of your body as the sensor

Green Koan That the mind can go wherever it wishes is a kindness we've come to rely on; that it returns unbidden to the soul it could not banish and learns to thrive there is life's stubborn mercy_-given to soften or harden us, as we choose.
