Original title: Midsummer century
German title: Bird time

The cover of a German translation of Midsummer century by James Blish. It features a man trying to fend off a flock of attacking birds with his bare hands. Little does he know it's bird time

@ireneista two useful nuggets:
1. this was before many of the automated filming techniques we know were invented, so when you consider the camera angles, note that the person had to hold the camera at all times
2. there are several soundtracks, but do not worry about it for your initial viewing

Person: can you describe your AI workflow?
Me: you know how, after watching Man with a movie camera (1929), you are filled with optimism and forward momentum, a sense that, yes, this is an art form that will take us into the future up towards the star, never mind the gutters we find ourselves in right now, if we but put our human creativity to work in the ways that matter, even though they do not matter yet?
Person: I can't say I know this, no
Me: let's just say, my AI workflow is the opposite

To alleviate the rumors: last week's was cancelled due to me re-enacting Midsommar, and this week's is cancelled for reasons stemming from the worrying words "computer won't start"

As consolation, I will give you that the most midsummer movie of all time is Melancholia (2011)

It also serves as an opposite to Armageddon (1998). All movies have an opposite, whether they warrant one or not. Figuring out which it is, is a fun and creative pastime for all ages

WHAT DO WE WANT
magnet links
WHEN DO WE WANT THEM
invisibly transported through the cyberaether, as if by magic
HOW DO THEY WORK
much like regular magnets

A good relationship is just two
people saying, "Hey, life is hard, but
I want to do it with you." That's it.
It's not a highlight reel. It's not
always romantic dinners or grand
gestures. Sometimes it's folding
laundry together and sending each
other memes when words feel like
too much. Love isn't always loud.
Sometimes it's just choosing each
other again and again.

Transmuting between chemical elements is dangerous because there are 256 possible atomic numbers but only 81 of them correspond to valid elements. The rest give you glitch elements that behave erratically and can even corrupt nearby atoms and molecules. Most of these are caused by indexing the periodic table out of bounds, though a couple elements were deleted before release.
