@0x47df ryobi batteries seem to be the best I can find for that, they have all the protections built into the battery and the newer ones claim to do balancing too

the more I learn about power tool batteries, the more I am convinced that planned obsolescence is absolutely a thing in this market

like what do you mean almost nobody does cell balancing, that several brands just completely screw up low voltage protections, and that there are many failure states that just brick the battery?

how does the cheapest consumer brand have better battery management systems than the most expensive professional brand??
