Looks like the "Verify your fedi account" scam is gaining pace, & evolving to look more real.

Your server admin will not ask you to click a link to verify your account. And no other admin from any other server will either, even if they do look like they could be part of the main Mastodon team. It's a scam.

Please report any post or DM that urges you to click any link to verify your account.

If you've any doubts about your account, now or on any other day, contact your server admin or mod team.

Can anyone recommend a quick and dirty web ui "bring me up to speed" course?

The modern web frontend is so different than what it used to be that I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. And I'm trying to write a GUI in golang, which ... I've tried Fyne, but it's too mobile-focused.

(It does annoy me a little that I have to learn web dev to build a GUI, but it's something I needed to refresh myself on anyway--my knowledge is getting long in the tooth.)

To the quarter million people I've been responsible for since 2020, I will say that it's been my pleasure and privilege to be your captain, and to keep you safe, and as comfortable and on-time as I reasonably could, through storms and wind, fog, ice, snow and turbulence.

But I think it's time to move on. I'm good at what I do, but the profession hasn't been kind to me, and it's taking a toll on what little I have for the rest of my life.

Now I just need to find my path forward.
