I'm a fairly boring person. If I post anything it'll probably be pictures of my cats. I'm mostly just looking for interesting people to perhaps be inspired of. And I found two bots regularly posting pictures of red pandas, so that's nice.

@mezz @spinning_bird @pineboxgames Not trying to hijack your conversation but for file search in Windows I'd definitely recommend Everything: https://www.voidtools.com/
@spinning_bird Oh I see. The Apple mouse has never made any kind of sense to me personally so to me that seems like a big upgrade. I'm guessing you're referring to buttons registering more or fewer clicks after a while? I haven't personally had that with any MX mice so far at least, for what it's worth. The MX Anywhere 2 I have for work has been going for at least four years at this point. I did however get it on a G900 mouse a number of years back. And a side button on a G903 that just gave up.
@spinning_bird Regarding the thumb button you can define gestures as in click plus a direction or just a click. Plenty of different options available it seems. Let me know if you want me to test a specific thing or gesture.
@spinning_bird It's fairly customisable, you can choose between these options and also have different per app.
@spinning_bird For my second PC that's going to be a music production/recording setup I bought an MX Master 3S on a sale. It's kind of a monster, but I figured it might be nice to use with a DAW. People seem to really like it.
I reluctantly end up with Logitech. I think they're generally too expensive, and I'm not a fan of their different software and dongles. But I also struggle to find decent alternatives.
@spinning_bird That's a tough one. At the moment I'm using a Logitech Superlight for my main PC. It's pretty nice. I prefer it over the Glorious O I had before that at least. For work I use an MX Anywhere 2S. Nice smaller shape, but the weight is a bit of a drag (har har). Makes for brilliant battery life though, I charge it once or twice a year. I miss having middle click on the scroll wheel though.
@grumpygamer Heh, what a coincidence. I've been toying with that same idea. Last night I was even trying to get a grasp of work visas and all that malarkey. I definitely feel that "need a tutorial" comment though, that's really a perfect way to describe it.
@spinning_bird Wow, that's a massive installation. In Sweden we've had a similar setup for quite a number of years now. We have a portable scanner with an integrated display though, which we at the end of the shopping run put into a dock to sync it. Then we proceed to a terminal where we pay. That also serves as a kind of checkpoint where periodic checks can be made. I found a video demonstrating the concept. It's old with an outdated scanner, but it still holds true:

@ahltorp Visserligen.
@sentinian@lea.pet Huh, didn't know that. Hard to figure out which games might support a thing like that, Valve should implement different Steam Cloud features listed on the store page. I'll have to try some games and see if I can find some more.
@sentinian@lea.pet I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Saves syncing even if you haven't shut the game down, or...? I must've missed some news update I think.
@fallenhitokiri @beepboop I'm curious, how many days does it take for it to drain for you? Half the time I shut mine down completely, but I've had it on standby for a week on numerous occasions before its battery is practically empty.
Don't get me started on their dock though, that's a purchase I regret.
@liliputing_ First thing from Humble Bundle in years that I actually am interested in and of course there's the usual "not available in your region" crap. Oh well, good thing I still have my physical books. Thanks for the tip though.

Well, that's some next level nostalgia. I don't even want to say how many years it's been. One of the first PC games I ever played. I feel old. #Discworld #SteamDeck #ScummVM I miss #TerryPratchett
@grumpygamer I don't know why, but this made me think of "I need a sword that goes 'ting!'" I wonder if there's a not too complicated way to be able to play the first Discworld game again...
