This month's @atpfm member special, School: Then and Now, is probably the best ATP episode in the last two years. Really good insights and stuff that truly made my reflect on my kids' experiences. Highly recommend.
I build stuff. You might know me as the guy who built phish.net. CTO of Umphrey's McGee. Board Member @ The Mockingbird Foundation. Webmaster, OSnews.com. Developer of Songfish, which powers websites for Umphrey's McGee, Goose, Neighbor, King Gizzard, Eggy, and more. Orlando-ish, FL. Toots are my opinions only. Mi ankaŭ parolas Esperanton je la baza/meza-nivelo.

@genecowan Fair, but the updates haven't been major, and they didn't fix my bug. In any case, Panic replied today and my issue is now resolved!
@panic Hey-o! Got a response and we resolved the problem! Thank you for unjamming the pipeline for me! And yes, I've been a (paid) Transmit user for decades, even longer than I've used Coda/Coda 2/Nova — but I had the same SSH problem with it, but now we're good!
Well, since @panic isn't responding to support emails, and doesn't respond on their dev board, and doesn't respond to Reddit posts, and doesn't update their first-class, amazing editor Nova, I guess it's time I recognize that I need to move on. Such a shame, Nova is just a beautiful app. I plan use Cursor for coding, but I need a recommendation for a replacement Mac native SFTP client. Forklift seems pretty great. Anyone have any thoughts?
Hopefully this photo become an iconic symbol—a turning point that historians will forever recall as the moment putin's power crumbled and his russian empire fell, akin the images that immortalized the fall of the Berlin Wall.
@matt I don't think it can be disabled, it's a terrible, terrible feature of Sonoma.
@blueemu @AG3rD @Brian (cont) I agree that ITU and Similar Skin are good representations, but a much better place to start is the Hall of Fame series. Find, well, really ANY of them and just jump in. You'll hear amazing musicianship, teases, jams, and deep melodies. And hopefully you like what you hear. If you, you'll love what you see live.
@blueemu @AG3rD @Brian Hey y'all I'm just catching up here, sorry for the delay. Bottom Half is a great album but not the album I'd start with. UM is a complicated band - lots of inside baseball knowledge, lots of twisty turns in setlists. High investment, high payoff! Divisions is a setlist staple for sure! (cont)
@panic It's for Nova. I sent a request on December 26, then a follow up on Jan 21. I heard back on January 27, and responded immediately with logs. It's been over a month since my request and Nova nonfunctional with certain servers on my laptop... I'm just perplexed.
Hey @panic what's the expected turn around on support via email? I'm running about a *month* between email and response. Is that the service level you're aiming for? I'm a very longtime user (20+years), but starting to think I need to find a new solution, as I'm not getting the guidance I need.
German newspaper of record "Die Zeit", front page today:
"A Hitler salute is a Hitler salute is a Hitler salute"
The amount of disdain I've seen by people who *don't* use TikTok, for people who *do* use TikTok, is disgusting. Especially from online personalities I respect. The problems in the world are unsolvable if citizens waste their time shitting on one another instead recognizing actual injustices.
@siracusa For Hyperspace pricing, why not a one time unlock and then, add you as features, make those future unlocks additional one time purchases? That way you can add features but also regenerate revenue.
@chopaganda @fogelnet @mrcompletely @aburtch Also, FYI - phish.net is completely custom code. @songfish powers sites for Eggy, Neighbor, @kglw_net, @umphreys, Dogs in a Pile, Goose, Green Day, and many others.
@chopaganda @fogelnet @mrcompletely @aburtch Wait, what's happening here? Is this re: Billybase? I think I'm missing part of this thread.
1. As you mentioned, WOBBLY AS HELL. Even just typing, wobbly
2. Takes FOREVER to wake up from sleep
3. Every single time it woke up, it moved my Dock to the other monitor
4. Power brick the size of Kansas
5. Needs the internet for most functions, otherwise you have a much longer process (eg firmware update). I don't want it online!
6. Mac keyboard brightness control not supported!
7. Camera is mediocre
8. Remote is stupid and unnecessary
Anyway, returned both. Got Studio Displays.
@atpfm One of my two cinema displays finally died in my work office. So after waiting as long as I could, I went with the Samsung ViewFinity S9. Got two.
Long story short, I returned them. They're terrible. Cheap but terrible, even at sub-$1400 for two. Here's my short review - 1/x
@ivory is my favorite Mastodon client, it'd be pretty amazing if it also supported Bluesky...
It's disgusting how Musk has used Twitter, far worse than the things that just months ago were the biggest concern of the far right. https://daringfireball.net/linked/2024/11/21/masnick-x-files
@clifff @chopaganda @bizarchive.bsky.social Like many services, no one anticipated this kind of growth :sunglasses_finger_guns:
