@shinypb Done! https://stevegardner.hatch.one/biscuit-monster
I have a hat but rarely wear it. 🇬🇧 in 🇨🇦
We've been adding support for text animations to hatch.one and I think I may have created a my favourite thing ever. 🍪

I can't believe they called them "Walkie Talkies" and everyone just went with it.
You know what I miss? Degaussing a CRT monitor.
I'm probably late to the party, but https://phanpy.social/ is a really good Mastodon web client!
@chriscoyier Thanks for sharing! I wasn't sure if the js panel would be happy with me pasting in 7k + lines of code but it just handled it like a champ!
You *must* see/play @sg's new game Spell Caster.

Quick, fun, gorgeous, impressive.
@alexkli Ah yes, I think I've fixed that now. Thank you. The layout on mobile is still broken but hopefully, you should be able to play now!
I've made a new game in CodePen! Cast spells and fight demons! I'm pretty pleased with how this one came out.
Can you save the crystal?
It's been ages since I made a thing, but I made a thing!
I'm pretty pleased that all the text is still selectable and readable by screen readers. I didn't implement prefers reduced motion this time but if I missed anything else regarding a11y I'd love to hear it so I can improve them.
@scott I haven't, those look awesome!
I've made some fun experiments with animated 3D text rendered in HTML! I plan to turn this into a handy little library to help make these kinds of effects easier.
@cjgammon That would be awesome. With designs this specific I personally think video works better.
I've been maintaining a 'Hall of Fame' CodePen collection. Full of awesome pens I personally consider to be classics. What awesome pens am I missing? https://codepen.io/collection/DLjrdd
You know, when I see a TikTok, it's a lot harder to tell if the world is generally turning to shit or if I'm just turning old and cynical. I always expected it to be easier to notice the difference.
I've enjoyed spending the last 20+ years trying to keep up with the latest technology, and because of this I've rarely been surprised by how quickly things have improved. Progress, while fast, has felt fairly incremental.
But this new AI stuff is another level. Good or bad, we are at the cusp of huge shift on the scale of the industrial revolution. It feels almost impossible to imagine what it's effect is going to be in 10 years.
